Ricky Bell Wiki Biography

Ricardo “Ricky” Bell was born on the 18th September 1967, in Roxbury, Boston, Massachusetts USA. He is probably best known for being an R’&’B singer with the band New Edition, that was widely popular during the 1980s. He is also recognized as the lead singer of the band Bell Biv DeVoe, but currently Rucky is working on his solo career. He became active in the music industry in 1978.

Have you ever wondered how rich is Ricky Bell as of early 2016? According to sources, it is estimated that Ricky’s overall net worth is over $15 million, an amount acquired through his career in the music industry, during which he has released a number of albums with several bands. Another source is coming from his solo career.

Ricky Bell was raised in a huge family as the youngest of 11 children. His professional singing career began when, with his close friend, Ralph Tresvant, he formed the duo Ricky and Ralph, and performed live in local places. Eventually, the duo became a quintet known as New Edition, formed in 1978, as they were joined by Michael Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, and Bobby Brown. However, Bobby left the group during the 1980s, and was replaced by Johnny Gill. The group has released a total of seven studio albums, some of which have received platinum and gold certification, which considerably increased Bell`s net worth. Their first album was released in 1983, entitled “Candy Girl”, which was soon followed by a self-titled album in 1984, which reached double platinum certification, and propelled the band further into the music scene. Their next four albums all reached gold and platinum certification, starting with “All For Love” (1985), then “Under The Blue Moon” (1986), “Heart Break” (1988), which reached triple platinum certification, and “Home Again” (1996), which was their only No. 1 album on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Their last album was released in 2004, entitled “One Love”, however, it wasn`t as successful as their previous releases.

During the 1990s, the group struggled to remain together, and eventually disbanded for a short period of time, but Bell didn`t leave music, as he had also formed the trio Bell Biv DeVoe with other members of the New Edition. The group released three albums, which also added to Bell`s net worth, as they were as successful as his previous ventures. The first album was released in 1990, entitled “Poison”, and reached four time platinum certification. Their next album came in 1993, entitled “Hootie Mack”, reaching gold certification, and last album came in 2001, with a name “BBD”, representing the initials of the members, however, it wasn`t well received with the public.

Bell also released a solo album in 2000 entitled “Ricardo Campana”, but it failed to obtain any major success.

For the time being, Bell is touring the world with Bell Biv DeVoe as an R`n`B trio at numerous festivals, however, he is preparing another solo album, and hoping for better critiques.

When it comes to his personal life, Ricky Bell has been married to Amy Correa, an actress, since 2004, but are so far childless. An interesting fact about their marriage is that they had a double wedding with his friend Tresvant and his wife Amber.
