Daniel Anthony Hutton Wiki Biography
Daniel Anthony Hutton was born on 10 September 1942, in Buncrana, Donegal, Ireland, also of American descent. Danny is a singer, best known for being part of the band Three Dog Night as one of the three lead vocalists. He has also done songwriting work for Hanna Barbera Records. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Danny Hutton? As of early-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $4 million, mostly earned through a successful career in music. During his time with Hanna Barbera, he also released a hit entitled “Roses and Rainbows”, but all of his achievements have ensured the position of his wealth.
Hutton started his career at Hanna Barbera Records, working as a songwriter and singer during 1965-66, and released “Roses and Rainbows” credited to him as a solo artist. After leaving the company, he would then form Three Dog Night alongside Cory Wells and Chuck Negron. He thought of the idea of a three vocalist group and the name was based on how indigenous Australians would embrace the native wild dogs called dingo during cold nights – if the temperature was freezing, then it was called a “Three Dog Night”.
In 1969, the group had their first Top Ten hit with the single “One”, and a year later they had another with “Mama Told Me (Not to Come)”. Two years later, they released their biggest hit – “Joy to the World” – before having their final number one hit with “Black and White”. They continued to make a lot more Top Ten songs, but the last of their songs that hit the Top Ten was “The Show Must Go On”. All in all, they had 12 consecutive gold albums from 1969 to 1975, and 21 hit singles. Hutton’s net worth increased significantly thanks to their success. They later released an official commentary as part of “Celebrate: The Three Dog Night Story, 1965-1975”.
The backing musicians of the band also drew a lot of notice and were put into the spotlight. Many of them would become successful musicians thanks to their creative input to Three Dog Night songs. In 1976, the group experienced several member changes, but they only had one Top 40 hit song during the next year in “Coming Down Your Way”. Hutton would leave the group and the following year, they would officially disband. In the 1980s, the band got back together with Hutton taking the lead alongside founding members, Wells, Greenspoon, and Allsup, and continued to perform until 2015, when Greenspoon passed away; Wells passed on later in the year as well. Thanks to their performances, Danny’s net worth reached where it is today.
Other projects Danny has been part of include working with the band “BBA” during their album release in 1973. He has also managed various punk rock bands, including “Fear”, and founded the Danny Hutton Hitters, which had the cover song “Wouldn’t It Be Good” featured in the 1986 film “Pretty in Pink”.
For his personal life, it is known that Hutton has been married to Laurie Anne Gaines since 1981. He previously had a relationship with June Fairchild during the creation of Three Dog Night – she was responsible for coming up with the name of the band.
