Brandy Rayana Norwood, commonly known as Brandy Norwood or simply Brandy, is a famous American singer, songwriter, rap artist, dancer, as well as a record and television producer. Brandy’s rise to fame started in 1994, when she released her self-titled debut album. A mixture of R&B and soul, “Brandy” soon became an international success, as it was not only praised by critics but appreciated by its listeners too. The album enjoyed an immense commercial success, and topped the Billboard charts with more than 2 million copies sold in the United States alone. In addition to spawning four singles, Brandy’s debut album earned her two Grammy Awards nominations, as well as a Platinum certification from the RIAA.
