David Anthony Love, better known by his stage name Kid Capri, was born on 7 February 1967, in The Bronx, New York City USA, to musician and singer David Love, of African-American and Italian descent. He is a DJ and rapper, considered as one of the most talented and most sought after DJs in the world of Hip-Hop.

So just how rich is Kid Capri now? Sources state that Capri has earned a net worth of over $4 million, as of late 2016. His wealth has been established during his music career, his involvement in the film and television industry, and through his other business ventures as well, during a career now spanning over 40 years.

Coming from a musical family, Capri began to “DJ” in 1975, when he was eight years old. His stage name came from a girl he used to know, who was accidentally killed. Reportedly, the girl had suggested this name to Capri, and he decided to keep it. He went on to DJ through his high school days, at private parties, in the parks and in various centers, before starting club gigs. Performing at clubs such as Studio 54 became his entrance into the world of Hip-Hop.

Eventually, Capri landed spots on the hit HBO television series “Def Comedy Jam”, produced by Russel Simmons, in which he deejayed for seven seasons, being the first to ever perform live on television. This significantly contributed to his popularity in the Hip-Hop world and to his net worth as well.

In 1991 Capri’s debut album “The Tape” came out, under Warner Brothers Records label. In 1997, he accompanied the rap mogul Puff Daddy (Sean Combs) on his Puff Daddy and the Family World Tour and went on to tour and collaborate with other major artists, such as Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, Foxy Brown, NAS, Lil’ Kim, Mase, Jay-Z, Usher, R. Kelly, Mary J. Blige and many other. Also in 1997, Capri signed with the Track Masters’ Columbia Records label, releasing his second album, “Soundtrack to the Streets”, the following year. In 2003 he performed at the BET Awards and later appeared as Rakim’s DJ during Rock the Bells festival in 2007, and again in 2008. In 2012, he remixed “Masterpiece” for Madonna’s album “MDNA”. All added to his wealth.

In the meantime, Capri produced tracks for artists such as Heavy D, Grand Puba and Big L, and the hip-hop band Boogie Down Productions. He eventually set up his own record label named No Kid’n Records and went on to produce music for big names such as Foxy Brown, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes, to name a few’ this added to his net worth as well.

Aside from music production, Capri has also produced and co-directed the film “Loaded Lux’s Lionz Den”, which portrays rappers on the battleground set in Harlem. Capri’s career as a producer has been another source of his net worth.

The talented DJ and rapper, Capri has also been involved in the television and film industry. He made a cameo appearance in the 1993 thriller-comedy film “Who’s the Man?”, and played a DJ in the 2005 comedy film “Get2Gether”. He has guest hosted for many popular shows, including MTV’s, “Beat Suite,” and BET’s “Tigger in the Basement.” In 2010 he became the lead judge in the hit reality television series and disc jockey competition “Master of the Mix”, improving his wealth once again.

Capri has been the owner of a boutique label, known as Kid Capri Enterprises, as of 2014. His other business ventures include numerous national campaigns, such as for Nike, Lugz Clothing, Sprite, Bud Light, FUBU Clothing and Diadora footwear.

He is currently working on his upcoming album called “Top Tier”. Capri’s blossoming career in creating mixtapes, rapping, producing, and also in fashion, has enabled him to amass a considerable wealth and to earn a number of awards and accolades, such as a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Speaking about his private life, sources believe Capri hasn’t been married yet, as there is no information known about his current relationship status.
