Tony Yayo Wiki Biography
Marvin Bernard, commonly known by his stage name of Tony Yayo, is a famous American rap artist, songwriter, as well as an actor. To most people, Tony Yayo is perhaps best known as a member of “G-Unit”, a popular hip hop group co-created by Yayo, Lloyd Banks and 50 Cent in 1999. The group used to feature another rap artist The Game, who left “G-Unit” in 2005, when the feud between him and “G-Unit” started, and currently also includes Young Buck and Kidd Kidd. “G-Unit” came out with their debut album called “Beg for Mercy” in 2003, shortly after the release of 50 Cent’s commercially profitable “Get Rich or Die Tryin” studio work. “G-Unit’s” album peaked at #3 on the Billboard music chart and sold more than 377,000 copies during its first week. Up to date, “Beg for Mercy” has sold 2.7 million albums in the United States alone, which earned it a double-Platinum certification from the RIAA. “G-Unit’s” commercial success followed shortly afterwards, yet it was overshadowed by a lasting feud between the group and its former member The Game.
The group returned to the music scene almost five years later, in 2008, when they released their second studio album under the name of “T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight)”. The album failed to repeat the success of its predecessor and managed to sell only 102,000 copies during its debut week. In addition to that, the album received rather mixed reviews from the critics and did not generate a lot of public interest. More recently, in August of 2014, “G-Unit” released their debut EP called “The Beauty of Independence”, which managed to sell 14,472 copies during its debut week.
A famous rapper, as well as a member of “G-Unit”, how rich is Tony Yayo? Sources state that Tony Yayo’s net worth is estimated to be $6 million. Needless to say, Tony Yayo gathered most of his net worth due to his rapping career.
Marvin Bernard was born in 1978, in Queens, New York. When he started pursing a career in the music industry, he adopted the stage name of Tony Yayo. Even though Tony Yayo is known as a member of “G-Unit”, he was also able to launch a successful solo career. 2005 witnessed the release of Yayo’s debut solo album entitled “Thoughts of a Predicate Felon”, which spawned a popular single “So Seductive”, featuring 50 Cent. The single not only topped the music charts and earned a nomination for a Vibe Award, but also significantly contributed to the record sales of the album. During its first week “Thoughts of a Predicate Felon” managed to sell more than 214,000 copies in the United States. Currently, Tony Yayo is working on his second studio album. In order to support it, Yayo released several singles that are rumored to be featured on the upcoming album, namely “Haters” with 50 Cent and Shawty Lo, and “Pass the Patron”, which also features 50 Cent.

Tony Yayo Quotes
- I really don’t care if it sells or generates any money towards Interscope, because Interscope only cares about three people: Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent. I’m not going to sit here and grow grey hairs over it. I’m gonna give you the best music possible because 50 is going to make sure I’m all right. I can do five shows with 50 and make over $100,000 being his hypeman. So me going on tour with 50, I can generate millions of dollars that a artist would make doing shows off their own album. – On his upcoming second album, ‘Godfather of the Ghetto’. [2007]
