He came to prominence after directing such music videos as “Teenage Dream”, sung by Katy Perry, and Lana Del Ray’s “Born to Die”, among other accomplishments.
Have you ever wondered how rich Woodkid is, as of early 2018? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Woodkid’s net worth is as high as $3 million, an amount earned through his successful career, active since the mid- 2000s.
Of part-Polish ancestry, Woodkid was a student of the Emile Cohl School, where he received a diploma in illustration and animation with honors.
After that, Woodkid moved to the UK and started learning about the silk screen printing process at Swindon College. He returned to France in 2004 and joined H5, a graphics and animation studio started in 1996. However, that didn’t last long as he became a part of Luc Besson’s crew. One of his projects was “Arthur and the Invisibles”, on which he worked for around a year. His early work as a director included a series of roughs for Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette.
In 2012, Woodkid became the recipient of the Best Director of the Year award at the MVPA Awards in Los Angeles, while back in 2012 he received 5 Lions for his AIDS Awareness campaign Graffiti at the Cannes Lions Advertising festival.
As early as 2010, Woodkid had started working as a music video director; his debut was Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”, and since then, has worked with Lana Del Rey on two videos, for “Born to Die”, and “Blue Jeans”, then collaborated with Rihanna and Drake on the video for the song “Take Care”, and most recently directed Harry Styles’ video “Sign of the Times”, all of which increased his net worth to a large degree.
He has also launched his musical career; in 2011 he released his debut EP entitled “Iron”, while two years later, Woodkid released his debut studio album, “The Golden Age”, which reached No.2 on the France chart and achieved platinum status in his native country, which only increased his wealth.
His songs have been featured in several films, including “Divergent” (2014), “Insurgent” (2015), “Desierto” (2015) and “13 Reasons Why” (2017), among other projects, all of which further increased his net worth.
He was slowly building his fame and in 2014 performed at the outdoor venue of the Montreal International Jazz Festival, in front an audience of more than 100,000 people. The same year, Woodkid performed at Coachella, and since then has given several international performances, including in Thailand and Austria, which have also added to his net worth.
Since reaching stardom, Woodkid’s YouTube channel has become one of the most popular channels, and with over 175 million views it has also contributed to his wealth.
When it comes to his personal life, Woodkid is gay, but there is no information about his love life in the media, as he tends to keep his most intimate details hidden from the public eye.
