Wyclef Jean Wiki Biography
Wyclef Jeanelle Jean was born on 17 October 1969, in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti. He is a popular rapper, actor and politician, perhaps best known as one of the former members of the band, called “Fugees” and for his activities as a solo artist. In addition to this, Wyclef attempted to participate in the 2010 Haitian presidential election.
During his career, Wyclef has been nominated for and has won different awards. Some of them include, Grammy Award, Golden Globe, Image Award and others.
So how rich is Wyclef Jean? It is estimated that Wyclef’s net worth is $50 million, with the main source of his wealth coming from his activities as a musician. His appearances in television shows and his career as a politician have also added to his net worth. If Wyclef continues these activities, there is a possibility that his net worth will become higher.
Wyclef Jean is the son of a Nazarene pastor. The family moved to New Jersey, USA when Wyclef was nine, and Wyclef studied at Vailsburg High School, Five Towns College, and in 2009 started attending Berklee College of Music. He says that Bigga Haitian inspired him to become a musician. In the 1980s the group called “Tranzlator Crew” was formed and in 1993 it signed a deal with Columbia Records and Ruffhouse Records. This was the time when Wyclef’s net worth began growing. In 1993 the band changed its name to “Fugees”, and one year later they released their first album entitled “Blunted on Reality”. It became quite popular and added a lot to Jean’s net worth. In 1996 their second album entitled “The Score” was released, which became even more successful than the first one. The band did not release more albums, except for an album of greatest hits released in 2003.
In 1997 Wyclef decided to begin a solo career, and released his first solo studio album entitled “The Carnival” which was a huge success. Some of the subsequent albums released by Wyclef include “Masquerade”, “The Preacher’s Son”, “The Ecleftic: 2 Sides II a Book” and others. All these albums have contributed to Jean’s net worth.
In addition to his career as a musician, Wyclef has appeared on different television shows and movies. Some of them include “One Last Thing…”, “Redline”, “Third Watch”, “The Apprentice” and others. It is clear that Wyclef is not only a great musician, but also a good and popular actor. As to Wyclef Jean’s political ambitions, he was disqualified from running in the Haitian presidential election on (lack of) residency grounds.
Talking about Wyclef Jean’s personal life, it can be said that he married Marie Claudinette in 1994, and in 2005 they adopted their daughter. All in all, Wyclef Jean is a talented musician. During his career, he has created many popular hits and made himself famous all over the world. Let’s hope that his fans will be able to hear more of his music soon as he continues his career.
