Juan Luis Morera Luna and Llandel Veguilla Malave, better known for their stage names Wisin and Yandel, are a reggaeton duo from Cayey, Puerto Rico. They started their music career in 1998, and have been together since, earning significant popularity, winning numerous awards, and becoming the first reggaeton artists to win a Grammy, All of their efforts have helped put their net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Wisin y Yandel? As of mid-2016, sources estimate a net worth that is at $40 million, mostly earned through their success in the music industry. Aside from their music as a duo, they’ve tried their hand at solo careers, and even have their own clothing line. As they continue with their careers, it is expected that their wealth will continue to increase.

The first time the duo was heard was in an album entitled “No Fear 3” released in 1998. They were also part of the compilation album “La Mision Vol. 1”, which achieved gold and led to their first album as a duo entitled “Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio”. After the release, they started to gain a significant amount of popularity and would regularly appear in the following “La Mision” albums. They would then release three more albums, entitled “De Nuevos a Viejos”, “Mi Vida…My Life” and “De Otra Manera” all of which achieved gold. They received a Tu Musica Award for Best Rap/Reggaeton, and made solo albums with Wisin’s “El Sobrevivente” and Yandel’s “Quien Contra Mi”. The albums sparked a speculation that the two were separating, but after low sales of the albums, they remained together.

In 2005, they duo founded their own label called WY Records, and would release an album through it entitled “Pa’l Mundo”, which would become even more successful than their previous ones, gaining popularity internationally, selling well in Japan, China and various countries in Europe. It also reached the top of Billboard’s Top Latin Albums. The following year they released the album “Los Vaqueros”, which featured other artists such as Tony Dize, Don Omar and Hector el Father. In 2007, “Los Extraterrestres” was released, and it would gain critical acclaim. especially in Puerto Rico. This prompted the duo to start an international promotional tour, moving around Latin America and Europe. Their events were almost invariably sold out, adding significantly to their net worth, and the two would then start promoting their next album.

They travelled to the United States to become part of the BMI Latin Awards. They also won four Juventud Awards and would start to collaborate with other popular Latin artists. In 2009, they released the album “La Revolucion”, which featured rapper 50 Cent. The album would once again become number one on the Billboard’s Top Latin Albums, and two years later they would release another chart topping album in “Los Vaqueros: El Regreso”.

After touring in 2013, the duo decided to go into a hiatus and assured their fans that they were not splitting. According to interviews, they decided to go solo for a while to give them different perspectives. They both worked on their second albums, and are also working on a new track that would feature both of them.

For their personal lives, Juan is married to Yomaira Ortiz Feliciano and they have two children. Llandel is married to Edneris Espada Figueroa and they also have two children.
