Wayne Alphonso Brady Wiki Biography

Wayne Alphonso Brady was born on 2 June 1972, in Columbus, Georgia USA of West Indian descent. Wayne is a famous singer, television personality, comedian and actor, perhaps best known for appearing in such TV shows as “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!¨, ¨Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and ¨Let’s Make a Deal”.

So how rich is Wayne Brady? It is estimated by sources that Wayne’s net worth is $11 million, the main source of his wealth being his activities as a musician and an actor. During the many years that Wayne has been in the industry, he has become famous in many different parts of the world. Now he is 42 years old and there is a high chance that soon he will be participating in new projects and that his fans will be able to enjoy his work.

Wayne Brady was raised in Orlando, Florida by his grandmother, Valerie Petersen, who he refers to as his mother. He was educated at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, and then enrolled at the University of Miami in 1990. When Brady was only 16 years old, he started performing with the improv troupe called “SAK Comedy Lab”. As Wayne already had some experience as the improvisational theater performer, he received an invitation to perform in “Whose Line Is It Anyway”, where he had an opportunity to work with Clive Anderson, Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie. This was the time when Wayne Brady’s net worth began growing.

In 2001 Wayne had an opportunity to host his own show, entitled “The Wayne Brady Show”. This had a huge impact on the growth of Wayne’s net worth. In 2004 Wayne acted in the musical “Chicago”, and also appeared in the show “Reno 911!”. Other shows that Wayne has appeared in include “How I Met Your Mother”, “Trust Us with Your Life”, “Hollywood Game Night”, “The Hero of Color City” and others. All these appearances added a lot to Wayne’s net worth.

In addition to his acting career, Wayne Brady has also released two albums: “Radio Wayne” and “A Long Time Coming”. His activities as a musician have made him even more popular and acclaimed.

During his career Wayne has been nominated for and has won such awards as Primetime Emmy Award, Daytime Emmy Award, Grammy Award and others. Brady’s name is acclaimed in the music and television industries, as he has achieved a lot both as an actor and as a singer.

While talking about Wayne Brady’s personal life, it can be said that he has been married and divorced twice. His first wife was Diana Lasso(1993-95) and his second wife was Mandie Taketa(2003-07). In 2014 it was announced that Wayne suffers from clinical depression and is undergoing appropriate treatment. Regardless, Wayne remains a consistent supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities, among other philanthropic activities.

All in all, Wayne Brady is a very talented and successful personality, who will probably achieve even more in the future, and increase his net worth. Let’s hope that Wayne continues his career for a long time.

Wayne Alphonso Brady Quotes

  • [About his birth parents (2003)]: My father, who was in the Army, moved around. He didn’t want me to have that life so he had his mother raise me, but he would still come. She actually kept me fixed in one place in Orlando, and I’m forever grateful for that. I don’t talk about my mother because I really don’t know her well, so it’s nothing that I go into. She’s alive and fine, but in the press I refer to my grandmother as my mother. Nothing bad, I just don’t really know her. My grandmother IS my mother, she’s everything to me.
  • I know that I might be a role model, especially being a young Black man on TV. And I’m fine with that because I stand behind what I do. I do a great job. I do a clean job. So if that gets me made fun of by another Black actor, then so be it. And if some kid in the projects or even in the suburbs watches what I do and says, ‘I want to be like that,’ then I’ve won.
  • To be honest, I have no desire to turn into the king of game shows. I consider myself an actor foremost, and a writer and singer, and I still tour and do Broadway shows.
  • The old adage is, you strike while the iron is hot. I’ve been blessed enough that my irons have been hot-to-warm-to-hot for the past 10 years. So I’m still striking.
  • [In 2008]: This is what I was built for, I can’t save a life; that’s why I didn’t become a doctor. I can’t drive a 16-wheeler. There are a lot of things in life I can’t do, but I’ll be damned if I can’t get on a stage and entertain.
  • [on Reeko the Skunk]: Stuart showed Reeko that he could take down that wall, and just let people like him for him. At one point I say, ‘You don’t like me because I’m a skunk,’ and they say, ‘No, we don’t like you because you’re a jerk.’ He couldn’t understand that. There was a good lesson there.”
  • I was teased horribly as a child and beaten up a lot. I had a horrible stutter; I got my butt kicked by bigger kids in school for breakfast, lunch and tea. I want my child to not be that person. I want her to be popular. I want her to have self-confidence. I want her to be comfortable being herself because those were the things that I never had.
  • [on replacing Monty Hall as host of Let’s Make a Deal (2009) in 2009]: They got me because they wanted someone a little edgier, but I get that it is daytime, so I am not going to say, ‘Hey bitch, what’s behind Door No. 1?’ But it lets me push it as far as you can in the daytime schedule, because it is a Vegas audience.

  • He started acting in high school when he was 16 to overcome his heavy stuttering and build confidence. • Sung in the Dr. Phillips High School chorus.
  • When acting in school, a stage piece dropped on his right foot – his big-toe nail never grew in straight.
  • Spoofed his own harmless, sugary persona while appearing as a guest on Chappelle’s Show (2003), portraying himself as a drug-dealing, pimping, murderous psychopath who terrorizes Dave Chappelle and others.
  • An early job was dressing up as Tigger at Walt Disney World.
  • His wife, Mandie Taketa, gave birth to their first child, Maile Masako Brady, on February 3rd, 2003.
