Victor Oladipo Wiki Biography

Born Kehinde Babatunde Victor Oladipo on the 4th May 1992, in Silver Springs, Maryland USA, he is a professional basketball player, who currently plays in the National Basketball Association for the Indiana Pacers as a shooting guard, having previously played for the Orlando Magic and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Have you ever wondered how rich Victor Oladipo is, as of early 2018? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Oladipo’s net worth is as high as $22 million, an amount earned through his successful career, active since 2013.

Victor, of Nigerian, and Sierra Leonean ancestry, he is the only son born to Joan Amanze Oladipo, and her husband Christopher Oladipo. His parents are highly educated immigrants who married in 1985 in the USA. Victor has three older sisters.

He grew up in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and went to DeMatha High School, located in Hyattsville, Maryland. During his high school years, Victor played basketball for the school team, leading them to a 32-4 record, winning the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and City Championships. In his last year, Victor averaged 11.9 points, 3.6 blocks and 10.3 rebounds per game, which earned him Washington Post 2010 All-Met First Team and First Team All-WCAC selection, and he was also a potential three-star recruit by all three major sports publications, Rivals, Scout, and ESPN.

After matriculation, Victor enrolled at Indiana University, though was offered scholarships to such prestigious universities as Notre Dame, Maryland, and Xavier, among many others. He played for the Indiana Hoosiers for the next three years, before deciding to enter the 2013 NBA Draft. In his first season, Victor didn’t have a notable role in his team, starting five games and averaging 7.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.06 steals in the 32 games that he played in.

He improved the next year with 10.8 points and 5.3 rebounds alongside 1.4 steal in 36 games, leading his team to Sweet Sixteen round in the NCAA Championship, where they lost to Kentucky.

Victor continued to improve his performances, and in his junior year averaged 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists, and recording a total of 69 steals, second only to Isiah Thomas’ record of 74 steals in a 1980-1981 season. Thanks to his successful season, Victor received several awards, including being named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and was also named as Sporting News Player of the Year, among other honors.

Encouraged by his extremely well performance, Victor declared for the 2013 NBA Draft, foregoing his final year of college eligibility. He was selected by the Orlando Magic as the second overall pick, behind Anthony Bennett who was picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Victor turned professional on the 8th July 2013 signing his rookie contract, and was immediately given playing time – in 80 games, 44 of which were starts, Oladipo averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, and was to become a part of the NBA All-Rookie First Team. He played for the Magic until the end of the 2015-2016 season, blending into a young and talented team but without any major success in the league, so Victor strived for new challenges. He didn’t want to extend his contract with the Magic, so he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. For his new team, Victor played 67 games, all starts and averaged 15.9 points, 2.6 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.

For the 2017-2018 season, Victor was traded to the Indiana Pacers along with Domantas Sabonis for All-star Paul George; Victor became the leading scorer for Indiana, and set his career high with 47 points against the Denver Nuggets, propelling his team to an overtime victory 126-116. Thanks to his improved play, Victor earned a place in the NBA All-Star game, though as a reserve.

When it comes to his personal life, Victor tends to keep most of his intimate details hidden from the public eyes, therefore, no reliable information is available about this rising star. However, some sources, connect him romantically to model Bria Myles.
