Évelyne Brochu was born on 17 November 1983 in Montréal, Quebec, Canada, and is best known as the actress who played Sarah in ‘’Tom à la Ferme’’, a critically acclaimed drama thriller film.

Brochu spent her formative years in Pointe-Claire, Montreal. Her native language is French, but she speaks English fluently and she had plenty of English speaking friends, which helped her learn the language further. Speaking about her education, Évelyne attended the Jean XXIII High School in Dorval, Quebec and additionally studied drama at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent. Subsequently, she graduated from the Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique, Montreal. In 2005.

Evelyne  made her acting debut with the role of Pharmacienne in ‘’Cheech’’ in 2006, and followed by playing Jolianne Laplante in the 12 episodes of the TV series ‘’Aveux’’, in 2009. During the following years Brochu had a lot on her plate – in 2010 she was cast to play Mylène Émard in several episodes of ‘’Mirador’’, then in the next year, Évelyne starred as Hélène Paradis in ‘’Frisson des Collines’’, which won one award and was nominated for five more, such as Best Costume Design and Best Foreign Film. She went on to star in ‘’Inch’Allah’’, a 2012 drama film released in the USA – Her role of Chloé earned her a lot of recognition among audiences and critics, and the film was ultimately rewarded with FIPRESCI Prize and Prize of the Ecumenical Jury – Special Mention, at the Berlin International Film Festival and nominated for 16 more awards including Canadian Screen and Jutra Awards, helping add to her net worth.

However, Brochu’s most notable project was yet to come, as in 2013 she landed the role of Delphine Cormier in the critically acclaimed television series ‘’Orphan Black’’, acting alongside Tatiana Maslany, Jordan Gavaris and Maria Doyle Kennedy, appearing in 29 episodes of the series which saw her gain more fans and fame. The series was nominated for a Golden Globe award, and actually won awards such as the Primetime Emmy, ACTRA Toronto, and Canadian Cinema Editors Awards. Brochu finished with that project in 2017 and in the meantime she played Sarah in ‘’Tom à la Ferme’’, a critically appraised film written and directed by Xavier Dolan. After that, she portrayed Aurora Luft, the main character in ‘’X Company’’, acting alongside Jack Laskey and Warren Brown. The series focused on the stories of young people taken from their families to serve as agents in a secret organization during World War II, and was rewarded with Canadian Screen and WGC Awards,  and nominated for several more.  Speaking about her future projects, her movie ‘’Cash Nexus’’ is in post-production.
