So just how rich is Vanessa L. Williams, as of late 2017? It is estimated by authoritative sources that Vanessa’s net worth is now over $33 million, accumulated largely from Vanessa’s career as an actor. Clearly, her modeling career also had a significant initial impact on the growth of Williams’ net worth, and subsequently her success as a musician also adds to her wealth.

From a very young age Vanessa started learning to play the piano, and soon became interested in songwriting and singing as well. Williams studied at Horace Greeley High School, and later continued her studies at Syracuse University, from which she graduated with a degree in Musical Theatre Arts. While studying Vanessa participated in the university’s beauty pageant, and in 1983 she competed for the Miss New York crown, and after winning this title she went on to win the title of Miss America. This had a huge impact on the growth of Vanessa’s popularity and net worth.

In 1988 Vanessa released her first album as a singer, called “The Right Stuff” and its success added a lot to Williams’ net worth. In 1991 she released one of her most successful albums, entitled “The Comfort Zone”; the album contained such singles as “Just for Tonight”, “Running Back to You”, and “Work to Do”, which gained a lot acclaim all over the world. Since then she has released six more albums, and they have certainly increased Vanessa’s net worth.

As mentioned, Williams is also a popular actress, who has appeared in such television shows as “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, “Star Trek:Deep Space Nine”, “MADtv” and many others. In 1997 Vanessa appeared in one of her more famous movies, called “Soul Food”, in which she worked with Nia Long, Brandon Hammond, Vivica A. Fox and Irma P. Hall, the success of which at the box office certainly helped add to Vanessa’s net worth. Other movies and television shows in which Williams has been cast include “And Then Came Love”, “Hannah Montana: The Movie”, “Ugly Betty” and “Desperate Housewives” among others. All these appearances and her overall success in the television and movie industries have proven that she is one of the more talented and versatile women in show business.

If to talk about Williams’ personal life, in 1987 she married Ramon Hervey II and they spent 10 years together and had three children before they  divorced. In 1999 she married Rick Fox, and they had one child before also divorcing. Since 2015 she has been married to Jim Skrip, and they are currently based in Chappaqua, New York State.

Vanessa Lynn Williams Quotes

  • The wiser you get, the more experience you have, and the more you see people for who they are as human beings, as opposed to figures you have to fight against.
  • I am lucky to have three daughters who are completely different. I look at my daughters and I have different relationships with all three and there are parts of each personality that are very special.
  • I think there’s a time to work, and everyone had to kind of adjust. And then there’s a time to relax, and be the mom or take the kids on vacation when you need to wind down. So it’s a matter of planning, and being able to map out your year or your week or let’s start with the day. It is just being multi-tasking and being available.
  • I throw myself into my work. It’s exhausting. It’s time-consuming. I feel guilty for not being with my kids all the time. But then when I’m home with my children and devoting my life to my kids, in the back of my mind, I’m wondering whether I’ll ever get employed again. So there’s a constant battle of doing what fuels me and what I do best. And also, being there for my kids.
