Usher Raymond Wiki Biography

Usher Raymond, better known by his stage name Usher, is an American actor, singer and songwriter, record and film producer, dancer, as well as a music executive. How rich is Usher? According to sources, Usher’s net worth is estimated to be $210 million. Considered to be one of the most prominent artists in the music industry, Usher accumulated most of his net worth due to his career as a singer. Born in 1978, in Dallas, Texas, Usher began his musical ventures at the early age of 11 by joining an R&B quintet “NuBeginnings” and recording 10 songs with them. Several years later, Usher competed in a television show “Star Search” and was recognized by a representative from LaFace Records, who later introduced him to a record executive L.A. Reid.

A successful audition with LaFace resulted in the release of Usher’s self-titled album in 1994, with several songs being produced by Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. The album sold a total of 500 thousand copies and peaked at #25 on Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. In 1997, Usher befriended a record producer Jermaine Dupri with whom he co-wrote several songs for his second album titled “My Way”. The album gave rise to two singles: “You Make Me Wanna” achieved the status of both gold and platinum, and the second one “Nice & Slow” was certified platinum by RIAA. The year 1997 was extremely successful for Usher, as he participated in P Diddy’s “No Way Out” tour and appeared as an opening spot for Janet Jackson’s “The Velvet Rope Tour”. Usher’s first concert album titled “Live” featured performances from Lil Kim, Trey Lorenz, Manuel Seal, and Twista. Usher’s fourth studio album titled “Confessions” was released in 2004 and up to date has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, and received a diamond certification by RIAA. The album’s single “Yeah!” featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris was at the top of the US Billboard Top 100 chart for 12 weeks and was certified platinum in several countries. Undoubtedly, Usher’s musical success is what earned him a remarkable net worth of $210 million.

During his career Usher released a total of 8 albums. The most recent one is announced to be released in 2014. In addition to his singing career, Usher has been active in business ventures as well. In 2002 he founded a vanity record label named “US Records”, releasing the first album in 2005, the aim of which was to introduce new acts on the label such as Rico Love and Justin Bieber. Usher also owns several restaurants, and is a co-owner of a Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team, the price of which is reported to be an impressive $375 million. A famous celebrity, actor, singer and record producer with an estimated net worth of $210 million, Usher has appeared in several television shows as well, including “American Idol”, “Britain’s Got Talent”, and “The Voice” alongside Adam Levine, Shakira, and Blake Shelton. Usher also actively participates in charity and has founded a non-profit organization “New Look” that aims to help young people with education.
