Troy Carter Wiki Biography
Troy Carter was born on the 14th November 1972, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA. Troy earned his net worth and popularity through his successful engagements in the music industry, working as an agent of numerous artists on the American pop and rap scene, including Lady Gaga, Eve, and John Legend among others.
Have you ever wondered how rich Troy Carter is? According to sources, it is estimated that Troy Carter`s total net worth is $30 million, an amount earned through his successful career, during which he has had many ups and down, but Troy got back on his feet in 2010, when he founded the Atom Factory, an entertainment management company.
Carter`s childhood is not one described in books; his parents divorced when he was only two years old. Furthermore, his father later remarried and was sentenced to 12 years in jail, after he was charged for killing the brother of his new wife. Anyway, Carter later stated that this had no effect on him, and that his father is his one and only real hero.
Regarding Carter`s education, after graduation from the Sayre Middle School, Troy attended the West Philadelphia High School. During his high school years, Troy found a rap group, entitled 2 Too Many, and decided to quit further education, in order to pursue a career in music. He soon met up with Will Smith and James Lassiter, which led to a signed contract with their record label WilJam Records. However, Troy`s singing career was cut short, as his group was waived by the record label only one year after they had signed a contract. Nevertheless, Carter stayed with James Lassiter as his personal assistant, and in addition, he collaborated with rap artist DJ Jazzy Jeff. This was a steady if slow start to his net worth.
For some years, Troy worked as a promoter of Philadelphia-based rap concerts of notable artists such as Notorious B.I.G. among others. Through these promotion, Troy befriended famous producer Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, who gave him a job at his record label Bad Boy Records, located in New York. After his tenure at the record label ended, he returned to Los Angeles to work again with Lassiter, but soon got fired, and returned to Philadelphia.
Starting all over again, Troy struggled for a few years, but eventually found work as the manager of the rising rap star Eve. Since 1999, his career has gone only upwards, firstly dedicating himself to promoting the career of the already mentioned rap artist Eve, however, in the next few years, his appetite grew, and in 2007 he formed his own managing group, entitled Coalition Media Group, a few months after he had become the manager of the pop star Lady Gaga. In 2010, his net worth increased to a large degree when Troy formed another management company, Atom Factory, and soon took numerous notable names of the American music scene under his wing, including Bonnie McKee, Meghan Trainor, Mindless Behavior and many others.
Troy`s net worth grew in accordance with his increased engagement in the music industry. However, in adding to his net worth, Carter has also created an investment fund AIDEA, which has over 30 investments in start-up companies such as Spotify, Songza, and Drop Box among many others.
Troy is also known for his philanthropic work; he serves as an Aspen Institute Henry Clown Fellow. Furthermore, he is a member of several humanitarian organizations, including The Grammy Foundation and T. J Martell Foundation, among many others.
When it comes to his personal life, unlike his career, his love life has been steady, as he has been married to his wife Rebecca for nearly 20 years, with whom he has five children.
