Tricia Helfer is a daughter of Dennis and Elaine Helfer, and grew up in Alberta with her three sisters, attending the William E. Hay Composite High School, and in the meantime she worked on the family’s grain farm, before she was discovered by a modelling agency scout at the age of 17.
Tricia began modelling in 1992, and won the Ford Models’ Supermodel of the World contest, and later worked for high-profile companies including Carolina Herrera, Christian Dior, John Galliano, Claude Montana, Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana. Naturally, she also appeared on numerous magazine covers, including ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Marie Claire, Amica and Flare, was Maxim’s calendar girl for 2005, the cover model for the February issue of Playboy magazine in 2007, and worked ads for Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Versace and Giorgio Armani. From 2004 to 2009, Tricia played Cylon Number Six in 73 episodes of the Primetime Emmy Award-winning show “Battlestar Galactica” – the popularity of the series helped Helfer to raise her profile even further, and increase her net worth significantly.
In 2006 Tricia appeared in “The Genius Club” starring Tom Sizemore and Stephen Baldwin, and in “Memory” alongside Dennis Hopper and Billy Zane, followed in 2007 with roles in “Spiral” and “Battlestar Galactica: Razor”, while she also started playing in the Primetime Emmy Award-nominated series “Burn Notice”, appearing in nine episodes through 2009.
