Tiffany Renee Darwish was born on 2 October 1971, in Norwalk, California USA, to Janie Wilson of Irish and Cherokee decent, and James Darwish with Lebanese, Syrian ancestry,. She is a singer, songwriter and actress, possibly still best known for her 1987 cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now”.
So just how loaded is Tiffany Darwish? Sources state that Darwish has amassed a fortune of over $4 million, as of early 2017. The main source of her net worth has been her music career.
Darwish’s parents divorced shortly after she was born. Her mother re-married and stayed in Norwalk, where she attended Leffingwell Christian High School. Her music career started in the early ’80s, performing country and western songs. She was discovered by country singers Hoyt and Mae Axton while she was performing at a country club in Los Angeles, and went on to perform around the country and to record several demos, appearing on “Star Trech” show. While her popularity elevated, her net worth also began to grow.
In 1986 George Tobin signed her to a recording contract and a deal with MCA. Her debut album titled “Tiffany” came out the following year, and she embarked on a nationwide tour of shopping malls to promote the album, catching up with the audience with her cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tommy James and the Shondells. The song put the album at #1 on the Billboard album charts, and reached the top on the Billboard Hot 100 itself, becoming Tiffany’s biggest hit to date. Her popularity boosted, seeing her appearing on covers of various teen magazines, and on MTV. Her other notable and chart-dominating singles included “Could’ve Been”, “I Saw Him Standing There” and “Feelings of Forever. All contributed to her wealth.
Her success made her a teen sensation, but Tiffany went through a rough period in the late ’80s, as she became involved in conflict with her then manager, Tobin for taking absolute control over her career, as well as in a legal fight with her mother and stepfather, filing for legal emancipation.
Her second album entitled “Hold an Old Friend’s Hand” came out in 1988, containing the hit single “All This Time”. Tiffany then signed with Dick Scott and Kim Glover, releasing her third album, “New Inside” in 1990. She eventually reunited with Tobin, and released her 1993 album “Dreams Never Die”, scoring hits with “If Love is Blind” and “Can’t You See”; her net worth increased again.
Tiffany released another successful album in 2000, entitled “The Color of Silence”, followed by the 2005 “Dust off and Dance”. Meanwhile/ she posed for Playboy, in an issue that turned into one of the highest selling issues ever; her net worth was greatly helped.
After signing with 10 Spot Records, Tiffany released the album “Just Me” in 2007, scoring another hit with the song “Higher”. Her next album, the 2011 “Rose Tattoo”, marked her transition into country music. Her most recent album, “A Million Miles” came out in 2016.
Aside from a remarkable music career, Tiffany has also pursued a career in acting. In the ’90s she voiced Judy Jetson in “Jetsons: The Movie”, and went on to appear in sitcoms such as “That ’80s Show” and “How I Met Your Mother”. In 2010 she landed starring roles in the films “Necrosis” and “Mega Piranha”, and the following year starred in the TV film “Mega Python vs. Gatoroid”. Her involvement in film and television industry has additionally increased Tiffany’s fame and fortune.
Another source of Tiffany’s net worth came from the clothing store called Tiffany’s Boutique, but which she closed in 2015.
In her private life, Tiffany was married to make-up artist Bulmaro Garcia from 1992 to 2003; they have one child together. As of 2004, she has been married to British businessman Ben George.
