Theodore DeReese Pendergrass is known as Teddy Pendergrass for R&B, soul, gospel, jazz fans as a songwriter, composer and a singer. Teddy Pendergrass could use several instruments such as piano, drums and guitar. Teddy Pendergrass net worth was 18 million dollars. The singer earned his fame as a member of the American soul band “Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes” in 1970. He started his career as a solo singer at the end of 1970s. 1982 was disastrous for Teddy as he got injured in an accident what caused paralysis of his body. The misfortune moved the singer to found the Teddy Pendergrass Alliance whose aim was to help people with spinal cord injuries.
Spending 25 years after the injury Teddy organized a festival “Teddy 25 – A Celebration of Life” which was held at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center and was full of famous people. Teddy Pendergrass’ las concert was on a PBS special at Atlantic City’s Borgata Casino in 2008. The famous singer died in 2010 because of respiratory problems.

Being 10 he was ordained a minister and he was also junior deacon playing drums. Pendergrass went to Edison High School for Boys but he left it in order to work in music world with his first song “Angel with Muddy Feet”.
