He is a former child actor, who is probably best known for playing the role of Marcus “Mark” Jason Taylor, the youngest child of the Taylor family in the hit series “Home Improvement” (1991-1999). In 1999 he retired from acting, and he is currently running a vegan and organic food company called “Playfood”.
Have you ever wondered how rich Taran Noah Smith is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total size of Smith’s net worth is over $300,000. It is presumed that most of his income comes from his child acting days, as well as from his vegan and organic food company.
Taran was raised in his hometown by his father, David Smith, and his mother, Candy Bennici with an elder sister Ariandrea, now an international model. Speaking about his education, upon matriculation, he enrolled at the University of South California Film School for a few months, before he quit education to pursue his career.
Smith’s professional acting career began at a very early age. In 1991 he was cast as the youngest son in the TV hit sitcom “Home Improvement”, a role he would play for the next eight years until the show’s end in 1999. This role added a considerable amount to his net worth, as he twice won the Young Artist Award in 1992 for Exceptional Performance by a Young Actor Under Ten, and in 1994 for Outstanding Youth Ensemble in a Television Series.
Besides that role, he made several more appearances in films “Ebbie” (1995) and “Little Bigfoot 2: The Journey Home” (1998), as well as guest starring in “7th Heaven” (1997) and lending his voice in an episode of “Batman Beyond” (1999), increasing further his net worth, before deciding to retire from acting in 1999.Subsequently, in 2001 he married Heidi Van Pelt, a woman who was 16 years older than him, a situation which sparked much controversy; there were many speculations regarding whether he married Van Pelt in order to get rid of his parents or if he really was in love with her. Under her influence, he founded “Playfood”, a California-based vegan and organic food restaurant, farm and non-dairy cheese manufacturer in 2005.

He accused her of using the money they earned from “Playfood” to fund her own business. After a prolonged legal battle, he emerged victorious and became the sole owner of the company. At the beginning of 2008 he managed to grow “Playfood” into a successful company.
