Sunny Anderson spent her childhood as an Army brat, thus it was allowed her to travel the world. She studied at Madison High School in San Antonio, Texas, and right after graduation she became a part of the United States Air Force in 1993.

She spent four years in Air Force, and reached the rank of Senior Airwoman. Side by side with her military duties, Sunny also started her career as a radio host working for the military firstly in North Korea, and later in San Antonio, USA, until 1997, when she took an honorable discharge. In 1995, she was appointed as a radio host of the several stations in the USA, including the ones in San Antonio, Louisiana, Detroit, and Alabama. With the beginning of the 2000s, Sunny became more and more focused on her career as a radio host, and in 2001 moved to New York. She found engagement at HOT 97, a hip hop radio station, where she stayed until 2003. In 2003 she launched a catering business, Sunny`s Delicious Dishes, which operated until 2005, increasing her net worth to a large degree.

Her career reached another level in 2005, when she made her debut on the Food Network, as a guest in the “Emeril Live” show. Ever since then her career has gone only upwards, and so has her net worth. Three years later, she became a host of the show “How Did That Get On My Plate”, and the same year she started to host another Food Network show “Cooking for Real”, which increased the overall size of her net worth by a large margin.
