Michael Coletti was born on 22 January 1965, in Cleveland, Ohio USA – his father was Italian American, and his mother Jewish American. As Steven Adler ,he is a musician best known as the ex-drummer and song writer for the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, the first band member to be fired by Axl Rose, the band leader and singer. He has also worked with bands including BulletBoys and Vain among others.
So, a song writer and drummer of the legendary rock band the Guns N’ Roses, how rich is Steven Adler? As estimated by sources, Adler has a net worth of $15 million as of early 2016, the bulk of his riches having been earned through his career as a drummer in Guns N’ Roses.
In his early years, he had to live with his mother after his father left them. They moved to Los Angeles, California and he was renamed Steven Adler after his mother married Melvin Adler. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley until he was 13, but due to his bad behavior was then sent to live with his grandparents. He attended Bancroft Junior High, where he became friends with Saul Hudson who later came to be known as Slash in the music industry. He moved back to his parents after ninth grade and completed his high school. Adler also learned to play drums and started auditioning. Slash, Adler and Duff McKagan disbanded doe to their inability to find a proper vocalist.
Adler joined Guns N’ Roses in June 1985. They played in night clubs, and finally signed with Geffen records in 1996. In 1997, their debut album “Appetite for Destruction” became a major success, selling 28 million records worldwide. After years of working in the band Guns N’ Roses, Adler actually received worldwide recognition in the 90s as a songwriter for the band. However, his heroin addiction caused disturbances in his work ethics and abilities as a musician, which got him fired from the band. After his removal from Guns N’ Roses, Adler played in his former band Road Crew for some time. He then joined BulletBoys, but neither band could achieve critical success. Steven later formed the band “Adler”, in which he has been working since 2012.
After leaving Guns N’ Roses, his career as a musician came to a halt as his drug habit became worse. In 1991, he filed a lawsuit against Guns N’ Roses for not receiving royalty for his works. After the case settled, he received a payback of $2,250,000 and was also granted royalties of 15% for everything prior to his departure from the band. In 2008, Adler participated in the reality TV show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, however, his behavior there was so bad that he was arrested and sentenced to community service.
About his personal life, Adler has been married twice, firstly to his long-time girlfriend, Cheryl, in June of 1989, the couple didn’t long due to his drug addiction problem and divorced in 1990. Adler married Caroline Ferreira in 2002. He has been working on his sobriety and also playing music at the same time, although he has not been involved in touring. However, to this day, his present net worth of $15 million caters to his daily life in every possible way.
