Spencer Pratt Wiki Biography
Spencer William Pratt was born on 14 August 1983, in Los Angeles, California USA, and is a television show personality, perhaps best known as the husband of well-known singer and television personality Heidi Montag, with whom he appeared in the reality series called “The Hills”, and other similar series.
So just how rich is Spencer Pratt? Accumulated from his career in the entertainment industry which began in 2005, sources estimate that Spencer Pratt’s net worth is only $20,000, as he and his wife are noted and admitted avid ‘shopperholics’.
Spencer Pratt studied at the University of Southern California, but did not graduate from it until 2013, since he left the university in order to pursue fame in the world of entertainment. Pratt’s first on-screen appearance was in the reality series called “The Princes of Malibu” in 2005, on the Fox network, which focused on the adventures of Brandon Jenner, Brody Jenner, Linda Thompson and Pratt. However, the show was cancelled after airing only two episodes, while the remaining four episodes were later shown on the Fox Reality channel.
A year later, Pratt joined Conrad and his girlfriend Heidi Montag in another reality series entitled “The Hills”, originally focused on Lauren Conrad and her struggles in starting a career in the fashion industry. Over time, “The Hills” included Montag, Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port, who were later joined by the supporting cast of Lo Bosworth, Spencer Pratt and his sister Stephanie Pratt. However, Conrad left the series in the middle of its fifth season, and was subsequently replaced by Kristin Cavallari. Throughout its six season run, “The Hills” received rather positive feedback both from the critics and its audience, yet it did not manage to avoid accusations of the show being scripted, as well as fabricating its story-line in order to appease the audience. Nevertheless, “The Hills” had a moderate following, which inspired the release of several spin-off series, namely “The City”, which focused on Whitney Port, “Kell on Earth” with Kelly Cutrone, and “Audrina”, where the main focus was put on Audrina Patridge. The show also helped Spencer Pratt to become a recognized face in the entertainment industry, and to land roles in several other reality series.
Pratt’s on-screen persona earned him the title of a villain, and he was even featured in a list of “The 60 Nastiest Villains of All Time”, compiled by “TV Guide” magazine. ISpencer Pratt and Montag then made an appearance in the reality game show called “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”, in which they gained an unfavorable reputation and caused a lot of controversy, which is something they have both become notorious for. More recently, in 2013 Pratt and Montag made another on-screen appearance, this time in the game show entitled “Celebrity Big Brother”, where they competed against other celebrities. That same year, the couple released a television special “Speidi: Scandal, Secrets & Surgery!”, which focused on their rise to fame, and added somewhat to Spencer’s net worth.
Meantime, he DID complete his degree in political science at USC! He and Heidi then returned to TV, in the reality series “Marriage Boot Camp” in 2015, followed in 2017 by another shot at “Celebrity Big Brother”, with moderate success, but no doubt the pocket money earned was very welcome!
In his somewhat less-than-private personal life, Spencer Pratt has been married to Heidi Montag since 2008, and they have just had a son, in October 2017. They actually engaged in make-believe divorce proceedings in 2009, aimed at boosting publicity for their careers! The family lives in Santa Barbara, California.

Spencer Pratt Quotes
- [interview with The Daily Beast, August 2, 2011] We were living each other’s mistakes. Everything we were doing, in retrospect, was a mistake. The second we continued on our quest for fame was a mistake. This isn’t a business. That was the big thing I didn’t get: Reality TV is not a career. Anyone who says, ‘Oh, you can have a career in reality’ — that is a lie.
