Soleil Moon Frye Wiki Biography
Soleil Moon Frye was born on the 6th August 1976, in Glendora, California USA, and is an actress, voice actress, director and screenwriter, perhaps still best known to the world for her portrayal of Penelope “Punky” Brewster in the sitcom “Punky Brewster” (1984-1988). Her career began in 1982.
Have you ever wondered how rich Soleil Moon Frye is, as of mid-2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Frye`s net worth is as high as $6 million, earned through her successful career in the entertainment industry. Apart from her work as an actress, she wrote and directed the film “Wild Horses” (1998), which also improved her net worth.
Soleil is the daughter of actor Virgil Frye and his wife Sondra, however, her parents divorced when she was only two years old. She has two half-brothers from her parent`s previous relationships, Sean Frye and Meeno Peluce, who are also actors. Soleil went to a private school in Los Feliz, and later to the San Fernando Valley Professional School, located in Burbank. In the 1990s, she attended the The New School in New York, which is a private research university.
Her career began as early as 1982, with a role in the film “Missing Children: A Mother’s Story”, which was followed by an appearance in “Who Will Love My Children?” (1983). Soleil also appeared in “Little Shots” (1983), and “Invitation To Hell” (1984), before she was cast as Penelope “Punky” Brewster”, beating over 3,000 other children for the role that made her a child star, and which also increased her net worth by a large margin. In the beginning, the series was largely criticized and NBC cancelled the show in 1986, but it was picked up by the syndication market, and continued until 1988. Her character became extremely popular, which resulted in a film “Back to Next Saturday” (1985), animation series “Punky Brewster” (1985), and appearance in “Alvin Goes Back to School” (1986).
After the show ended, she returned to film acting, and by the end of the 1980s had appeared in the film “Cadets” (1988). With the new decade, Soleil, now older and experienced, made several notable appearances, including in “The Liars` Club” (1993), “Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings” (1993), “Twisted Love” (1995), and “Piranha” the same year. In the second half of the 1990s, she continued successfully with roles in “Mind Games” (1996), “Motel Blue” (1997), and “I`ve Been Waiting For You” (1998), among others, all of which added to her net worth.
Soleil`s first role in the new millennium was in the film “The Girls’ Room”, and the same year she was selected for the role of Roxie King in the TV series “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch” (2000-2003). From 2001 until 2005, she also played Zoey in “The Proud Family”, and in 2004 she gave voice to Jade from the “Bratz” franchise, for the film “Bratz the Video: Starrin’ & Stylin’” and in video games “Bratz Rock Angelz” (2005), “Bratz; Forever Diamondz” (2006), and another animated film installment “Bratz: Go to Paris the Movie” (2013), increasing further her net worth. To speak further of her accomplishments, she gave voice to Aseefa from “Planet Sheen” (2010-2013), and voiced several characters in “Robot Chicken” in the period from 2009 until 2014.
Most recently, she began working as a host of the TV show “Home Made Simple”, which is aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Soleil tried herself as a writer, publishing a book in 2011, entitled “Happy Chaos: From Punky to Parenting and My Perfectly Imperfect Adventures in Between”, the sales of which also increased her net worth.
Regarding her personal life, Soleil has been married to Jason Goldberg since 1998; the couple has four children together. While in her teen years, Soleil had problems with gigantomastia, and was forced to undergo a breast reduction just a few months before her 16th birthday.
