Slipknot is a heavy metal band formed in September 1995 in Des Moines, Iowa, USA, so the band has been active since that year and during all these years has released five studio albums, “Slipknot”, “Iowa”, “Vol. 3 (Subliminal Verses)” etc. The band won the Grammy Award for the song “Before I Forget”.
Have you ever wondered how much money does Slipknot have? According to authoritative source, it has been estimated that the overall size of Slipknot’s net worth is over $20 million; the main source of this wealth is, of course, the music industry.
Formed in 1995 by Paul Gray and Shawn Crahan, Slipknot went through several line-up changes in its first few years, however, on their first album, the band consisted of Sid Wilson, Corey Taylor, Shawn Crahan, Jim Root, Craig Jones, Chris Fehn, Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, and Mick Thomson. The band’s self-titled first album came in 1999, and entered the Billboard Top 200 at No. 51, and also reached double platinum certification, increasing the net worth of the band`s members. In support of the album, the band went on a tour, which lasted from December 1999 until November 2000, visiting cities across the USA and Europe, including, Denver, Sacramento, Phoenix, Berlin, Nijmegen, Monza and many others, which certainly helped to increase the sales of the album, and the band members’ net worth.
Their second album was released in 2001, entitled “Iowa”, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, and it was also certified platinum in 2002. After the release, the band went on hiatus, as several members of the band focused more on side projects, including Corey Taylor joining with the Stone Sour, and Joey Jordison creating Murderdolls.
However, the band reformed in 2003, and soon started working on their third album, which was released in 2004, entitled “Vol. 3 (Subliminal Verses)”, entering the Billboard Chart at No. 2, and reaching platinum certification in 2005. The third single from this album called “Before I Forget” is a Grammy Award winning song in the category Best Metal Performance in 2006.
In 2008, the band released their fourth album, entitled “All Hope Is Gone” (2008), which also reached platinum certification, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, further increasing the overall net worth of the band, and its members.
Two years later, a tragedy struck the band, as Paul Gray was found dead in a hotel room in Urbandale, Iowa, and autopsy results showed he died of a morphine overdose. The band continued with work, but three years later, Joey Jordison quit the band because for personal reasons.
New musicians were soon added to the group – Alessandro Venturella and Jay Weinberg – and the band soon started working on their next album, which was released in 2014 “.5: The Gray Chapter”, which as well as their previous releases topped the Billboard chart.
Slipknot has also released one live album, in 2005, entitled “9.0: Live”, and also has one compilation album “Antennas To Hell” (2012), which sales helped to increase the overall net worth of Slipknot.
