Shannen Doherty Wiki Biography

Shannen Maria Doherty was born on 12 April 1971, in Memphis, Tennessee USA, of Irish (father) and English and Scottish (mother) descent. Shannen is an actress, producer and also a writer, perhaps best known for appearing in such shows as “Charmed” and “Beverly Hills, 90210”. During her career, Shannen has been nominated for and has won such award as Saturn Award and Youth In Film Award. Doherty has been working in the television and movie industries for over 30 years, and has been able to gain the acclaim she deserves.

So how rich is Shannen Doherty? It is estimated that Shannen’s net worth is over $10 million, gained largely from her acting roles, but in addition Doherty is also known as a producer and director which also add to her wealth. What is more, Doherty is still involved in various projects and in this way she continues to increase her net worth.

Her career as an actress began when she was only 10 years old. Some of the first shows that Shannen appeared in included “Father Murphy” and “Voyagers!”. In 1982 Doherty received a role in the television show called “Little House on the Prairie”, in which she worked together with Michael Landon, Karen Grassle, Melissa Gilbert, Merlin Olsen, Alison Arngrim among others. This was the time when Doherty’s net worth began growing. In 1985 Shannen acted in the movie entitled “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and step by step gained more and more experience in acting. Doherty subsequently became noticed by many producers and received various invitations to appear in movies and television shows. In 1986 she took a role in the show called “Our House”. Then four years later Shannen became a part of one of the most famous shows that she has appeared in, playing the role of Brenda Walsh in the television show called “Beverly Hills, 90210”. During the making of this show Shannen had an opportunity to work with such actors as Luke Perry, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green, Douglas Emerson and others. As the show soon became popular in various parts of the world, it became a main source of Shannen Doherty’s net worth.

In 1998 Shannen started acting in another famous show, “Charmed”, which soon received a lot of praise and became very popular. Shannen even had an opportunity to direct some of the episodes of this show, and this only added to her net worth.

In 2006 Shannen produced her own reality show, called “Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty”. Unfortunately, the show did not become very successful and was soon was cancelled. In 2008 Shannen worked on such movies as “The Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon” and “Burning Palms”, which appearances helped her net worth grow. Other movies and television shows that Doherty has acted in include “Jailbreakers”, “The New Normal”, “Love, Inc.”, “The Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon”, “Bukowski” and others. The long list of shows and movies that Shannen has worked on – over 50 TV productions and almost 20 films on the big screen – only prove the fact that she is one of the most successful actresses in the industry.

If to talk about Shannen’s personal life, it can be said that in 1993 she married Ashley Hamilton, but their marridge  ended after only spending one year together. In 2002 Doherty married Michael Landonriage  for the second time, but this marriage also ended in divorce. Her third marriage was with Kurt Iswarienko, with whom she now lives. All in all, Shannen Doherty is one of the most successful actresses in television and movie industries. As she has worked as an actress from a very young age, now she is a very experienced actress, whose popularity remains really high.

Shannen Doherty Quotes

  • [in February 2005] I’ve been very, very, very happily single since October–I ended my previous relationship, and it thrills me to no end. I’m just sort of hanging out and being a single girl and enjoying the moment. I think to just be a girl and have fun is so incredibly important.
  • Even when I’m called in for an audition or anything, and even when I have to meet other actors / actresses, or be in front of the camera, I get goosebumps.
  • [on the tabloid articles] You know, as far as I’m concerned, whatever they write, um, is so . . . it’s consisted of so many different lies that it’s not even worth justifying it.
  • [in Cleo magazine, August 2000] Let me start by saying it wasn’t like I walked out one day and said, “I quit”. It was a very long process of quitting the show. Aaron [producer Aaron Spelling] got as fed up with me as I was with the show, and I think it was because the notoriety was too much. People were hating the character and I couldn’t take the abuse that came with that. People couldn’t separate me from her and I got sick of people assuming that I was as naughty and bad as Brenda was. It was all very hurtful.
