What is more, Doherty is still involved in various projects and in this way she continues to increase her net worth.
Her career as an actress began when she was only 10 years old. Some of the first shows that Shannen appeared in included “Father Murphy” and “Voyagers!”. In 1982 Doherty received a role in the television show called “Little House on the Prairie”, in which she worked together with Michael Landon, Karen Grassle, Melissa Gilbert, Merlin Olsen, Alison Arngrim among others. This was the time when Doherty’s net worth began growing. In 1985 Shannen acted in the movie entitled “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and step by step gained more and more experience in acting. Then four years later Shannen became a part of one of the most famous shows that she has appeared in, playing the role of Brenda Walsh in the television show called “Beverly Hills, 90210”. During the making of this show Shannen had an opportunity to work with such actors as Luke Perry, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green, Douglas Emerson and others. As the show soon became popular in various parts of the world, it became a main source of Shannen Doherty’s net worth.

Shannen Doherty Quotes
- [in February 2005] I’ve been very, very, very happily single since October–I ended my previous relationship, and it thrills me to no end. I’m just sort of hanging out and being a single girl and enjoying the moment. I think to just be a girl and have fun is so incredibly important.
- Even when I’m called in for an audition or anything, and even when I have to meet other actors / actresses, or be in front of the camera, I get goosebumps.
- [on the tabloid articles] You know, as far as I’m concerned, whatever they write, um, is so . . . it’s consisted of so many different lies that it’s not even worth justifying it.
- [in Cleo magazine, August 2000] Let me start by saying it wasn’t like I walked out one day and said, “I quit”. It was a very long process of quitting the show. Aaron [producer Aaron Spelling] got as fed up with me as I was with the show, and I think it was because the notoriety was too much. People were hating the character and I couldn’t take the abuse that came with that. People couldn’t separate me from her and I got sick of people assuming that I was as naughty and bad as Brenda was. It was all very hurtful.
