Scott Coker Wiki Biography
Scott Coker was born in Seoul, South Korea – his exact date of his birth is unknown in the media – and is a mixed martial arts promoter best known to the world as the founder of the now folded American mixed martial arts and kickboxing organization, and the current president of the MMA promotion company Bellator MMA. His career started in the mid- ‘80s.
Have you ever wondered how rich Scott Coker is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Scott`s net worth is as high as $20 million, earned largely through his successful career in the business of mixed martial arts..
Little is known about Scott`s early life, until he became focused on a career in promoting mixed martial arts. He grew up in South Korea, and according to his words, it was the time when he had three choices: to play baseball, football or train in mixed martial arts. When he was old enough he joined Ernie Reyes Sr`s West Coast Demonstration Team, and earned 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo. Because of his training with Ernie, Scott appeared in several MMA films as a stunt man or fighter, including such productions as “The Last Dragon” (1985), “Dragon Fight” (1989), and “Surf Ninjas” (1993), which only benefited his net worth.
Before starting his own kickboxing and MMA promotion company, he was the San Jose promoter for the Professional Karate Association (PKA), but in 1985 it was dissolved, and the same year he and several others, including Mike Sawyer, Karyn Turner Tony Thompson and John Worley, started the International Sport Karate Association (ISKA), which is one of the major organizations regulating sport karate and kickboxing events.
In 1986 he took a step forward and founded Strikeforce; little by little he built his own brand and company, leading it to become the second most successful fighting organization. After years of clashes, both televised and not, Scott sold his company to Zuffa LLC, which is the owner of the most successful fighting organization – the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). This also increased Scott`s net worth by a large margin. Although he sold it in 2011, he stayed with the company until 2014, and then became the President of Bellator MMA as founder and CEO Bjorn Rebney stepped down, and significantly increasing further his net worth.
When it comes to speak about his personal life, little is known about Scott in the media, as he tends to keep his private life a secret, and most intimate details about him, including marital status and number of children remain a mystery. However, he is quite active on several social media networks, including Twitter, where he posts details about his next business ventures.
