Sandara Park Wiki Biography

Sandara Park was born on the 12th November 1984 in Busan, South Korea, and is an award- winning singer, actress and TV host, best known to the world for her participation in the music talent show “Star Circle Quest”, and for her roles as April in “Bcuz of U” (2004), and Daisy in “Can This Be Love” (2005), among many other differing appearances.

Have you ever wondered how rich Sandara Park is, as of late 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Park’s net worth is as high as $16 million, an amount earned through her successful career, which has been active since the early 2000s.

Sandara is the eldest child of a trading businessman, Ik-Su Park, and his wife Kyung Ran-Kim; she has two younger siblings, Thunder, who is a musician as well, and a sister Durami. She spent her early years in Busan, but after her father’s firm collapsed, the whole family moved to Daegu. Her father put all effort into rebuilding his business, however, he wasunsuccessful, and so he alone moved to the Philippines and started anew. He made progress so that three years after his move, the whole family followed, and settled in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines.

While in school, Sandara was involved in several school activities, and during one of them, met actress and TV personality Pauleen Luna ,one of the talents of ABS-CBN Corporation Channel 2’s Talent Center. The two became close friends, and on Luna’s encouragement, Sandara successfully auditioned for the “Star Circle Quest”, and eventually became the runner-up in the show, despite being close to elimination several times. This appearance launched her career; she became a part of Star Magic, a management and training subsidiary of ABS-CBN Corporation, and not only began her music career, but was also given a try as an actress.

She released her self-titled debut EP in 2004, spawning the hit “In or Out” which topped the Philippines chart. She continued successfully on her own with EPs “Walang Sabit” (2004), and “Ang Ganda Ko” (2006), the sales of which only increased her wealth. However, she then went on a break from music, until in 2009 teaming up with Park Bom, CL, and Minzy, all from Star Magic, to start the band 2NE1. The band existed until 2016, during which time they released two Korean and two Japanese albums, “To Anyone” (2010), which topped the Korean chart, then “Collection” (2012), which reached No. 5 on the Japanese chart, and “Crush” (2014), which peaked at No. 4 on the Japanese chart. Before disbandment, the group recorded their last single, entitled “Good bye”, released in January 2017, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.

When it comes to her acting career, she made her debut in 2004 with the lead role in the film “Bcuz of U”, followed by “Can This Be Love” in 2005.

The following year she featured in the action adventure film “Super Noypi”, starring Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras and John Prats, and then portrayed Noh Woo Ri in the TV series “Wooriheeojyeosseoyo” in 2015. Most recently, she made her film debut in South Korea with the role of Si-hyeon in the drama film “One Step” (2017), which also added to her wealth.

Aside from acting, Sandara has been the host of several shows, including “Sugar Man” (2015-2016), and “Get it Beauty” (2017), while she is also a judge on the talent show “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” (2016).

Sandara has also diversified into fashion, becoming the face of Etude House, and has appeared in many TV commercials that only further increased her wealth.

Regarding her personal life, Sandara is believed to still be single – there aren’t even any rumours about romantic liaisons. She speaks three languages – in addition to her native tongue, Korean, she is also fluent in English and Filipino. While in Japan in 2011, she and was trapped on the 34th floor of the hotel in which she stayed during the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Luckily she was rescued, but not before she contacted her band mate CL, who sent one of their staff members to help Sandara.

Sandara is well known for her philanthropic activities; she supports many organizations, including World Share, and has made donations to Purme Foundation Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital.
