Sam Rubin Wiki Biography
Sam Rubin was born on the 16th February 1960, in San Diego, California USA, and is a journalist best known to the world as the entertainment reporter for KTLA “Morning News” (1991-2017), and as the host of the show “Hollywood Uncensored with Sam Rubin” (2010-2012), among other achievements. Sam’s career started in the 1980s.
Have you ever wondered how rich Sam Rubin is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Rubin’s net worth is as high as $1 million, an amount earned through his successful career in the broadcast journalism and entertainment industry.
Unfortunately, little is known about Sam’s growing up and childhood on the whole. After he finished high school, Sam enrolled at Occidental College, a private educational facility, from which he obtained Bachelor of Arts degree in American studies and rhetoric.
Soon after college, Sam began pursuing his career in the entertainment industry and in a short time found a job at Fox News, serving as one of the hosts next to Crystal Fambrini, and Diane Dimond. However, he then changed TV stations, joining the KTLA channel, and became the host of their “KTLA Morning News” in 1991. Since then he has been hosting the show, which has significantly increased his net worth.
Gradually his influence in the entertainment industry increased, and he also started contributing to other networks, including ReelzChannel and its show “Hollywood Dailies”, while in 2010 he started hosting his own show “Hollywood Uncensored with Sam Rubin”, also on ReelzChannel, both contributing steadily to his growing net worth.
To speak further of his accomplishments, Sam has hosted “Live From the Academy Awards”, and a number of installments of “The Critics’ Choice Awards”. Back in 1995 he was one of the founders of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, and the next year the organization started the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, which is now next to Academy Awards and the Golden Globes by relevant importance.
Throughout his career, Sam has interviewed numerous celebrities, mostly from the world of entertainment, including Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeff Bridges and Tom Hanks among many others.
However, Sam is also something of an author; he helped write two biographies, including one of the former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy/Onassis, and the other on sometime controversial actress Mia Farrow, which no doubt boosted his bank account somewhat.
Thanks to his successful career, Sam has received several prestigious awards, including the Golden Mike award for best entertainment reporter, while Associated Press rewarded him with Television and Radio award as part of KTLA news team’s morning show.
Regarding his personal life, Sam is married to Leslie, with whom he has one child. They currently reside in Los Angeles. Previously, he was married to actress Julie, with whom he has three children.
Sam is also a well-known philanthropist; he has funded revitalizing Los Angeles schools, and cultural events, such as the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. Also he is a part of the annual MS 150 Bay to Bike Tour.
