Born Selema Mabena Masekela on the 28th August 1971, in Los Angeles, California USA, Sal is a sports commentator, television host, actor, singer, and producer, but probablybest known as a host of TV shows such as “E! Live from the Red Carpet’ (2006-2009) and “The Daily 10” (2006-2010).

He began working in 1992 as a receptionist/intern at Transworld Publications, which is known for publishing TW Snow, TW Surf, and TW Skateboarding magazines. In 1999, Sal was a host of the “MTV Sports & Music Festival 3: Skate Trick”, while in 2002, he appeared in the documentaries “Gigantic Skate Park Tour: Summer 2002” and “Ultimate X: The Movie”.

From 2006 to 2009, Sal hosted six episodes of the “E! Live from the Red Carpet”, including coverage of the Golden Globe Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, and Oscar Awards. Also, from 2006 to 2010, he worked as a host in 58 episodes of the “The Daily 10”, while in 2010, Masekela served as a sports commentator for ESPN at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

In 2012, Sal appeared in Bryce Clark’s romantic comedy called “Beauty and the Least: The Misadventures of Ben Banks” starring Ben Banks, Katharine Towne and Mischa Barton.In 2014,, he worked as a special correspondent and commentator from the Winter Olympics in Sochi, while in 2015, he had a smaller role in “Point Break” with Edgar Ramírez, Luke Bracey and Ray Winstone. Most recently, Masekela co-hosted the shows “Hart Lines: Red Bull Signature Series” (2016) and was aguest in the “PoliticKING with Larry King” (2016).
