Ryan Gary Raddon, better known by his stage name Kaskade, was born on 25 February 1972, in Chicago, Illinois USA, and is a DJ, record producer and remixer, who rose to prominence during the revival of American progressive house in 2008–2009.

Kaskade grew up in Chicago suburbs, along with his brother, entrepreneur and film producer Rich Raddon. He attended Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois, and then briefly attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, before going on a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Japan from 1990 to 1992.
