Ryan Christian Kwanten Wiki Biography
Ryan Christian Kwanten was born on the 28th November 1976, in Sydney, New South Wales Australia, and is an actor as well as a comedian, most famous for portraying Jason Stackhouse in the American TV horror series “True Blood”. He is also widely recognized for his roles of Vinnie Patterson in the Australian TV soap opera “Home and Away” as well as Jay Robertson in the TV drama series “Summerland”.
Have you ever wondered how much wealth this actor has accumulated so far? How rich Ryan Kwanten is? According to sources, it is estimated that the total of Ryan Kwanten’s net worth, as of mid-2017, exceeds the sum of $6 million, acquired through his acting career which spans for over 25 years now, being active since 1992.
Ryan is one of three sons of marine safety worker Eddie, and charity store coordinator Kris Kwanten, and apart from Australian, is also of Dutch ancestry. His brother Lloyd is a doctor, while Mitchell is a musician. Ryan matriculated from St. Paul’s Catholic College before enrolling at the University of Sydney, from which he graduated majoring in commerce. As a teenager, Ryan excelled in sports, golf and surfing in particular.
Ryan got involved in the world of acting by accident – at the age of 15, he accompanied his mother who was driving his brother to an acting agency. In a rush, the agency mistook Ryan for his brother, dragging him into an audition, and the rest is history. Ryan officially debuted as an actor less than a year later, in 1992 when he appeared in two episodes of “A Country Practice” TV series. His first big screen engagement occurred in 1994, when he briefly appeared in the thriller movie “Bullet Down Under”; these appearances provided the basis for Ryan Kwanten’s net worth.
In 1997, Ryan appeared in several episodes of “Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord”, but the real breakthrough in his acting career came later that year, when he was cast in the recurring role of lifeguard Vinnie Patterson in the TV soap opera “Home and Away”, continuing for six years, ‘til 2002 when he decided to abandon the series. Ryan then relocated to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a Hollywood acting career, and in 2004 he got the role of Jay Robertson in the “Summerland” TV series. All these engagements helped Ryan Kwanten to dramatically increase his net worth.
In 2008, Ryan was cast as the regular crew member of HBO’s Sci-Fi drama series about vampires – “True Blood”. The role of womanizer Jason Stackhouse, which he played for the series’ seven-season-long run, has certainly been his most memorable acting performance so far. Some other notable appearances include the movies “Griff the Invisible” in 2010, “The Right Kind of Wrong” and “Mystery Road” in 2013, “Kidnapping Mr. Heineken”, “Blunt Force Trauma” and “Edge” in 2015, as well as TV series such as “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, “New Girl” and more recently “Jake and the Never Land Pirates”. Doubtlessly, all these achievements have made a significant impact on Ryan Kwanten’s net worth.
When it comes to his personal life, between 2006 and 2008 Ryan dated actress Taylor Cole, while in 2010 he was apparently in a relationship with country musician Whitney Duncan. Currently, Kwanten is a long-term relationship with Ashley Sisino.
