How rich is Ronnie McDowell? As of mid-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $500,000, mostly earned through a successful career in the music industry. He has had more than 30 Top 40 hits on the Billboard country music charts, with some of his most popular songs including “You’re Gonna Ruin My Bad Reputation” and “Older Women”. All of these achievements have ensured the position of his wealth.
Prior to starting his music career, Ronnie served in the US Navy from 1968 to 1972, aboard the aircraft carriers USS Kitty Hawk as well as the USS Hancock. In 1977, he recorded the tribute song “The King is Gone”, meant for Elvis Presley who had just passed. It immediately became a hit and would boost his popularity as well as his net worth, being certified gold, and which he performed on the NBC.
McDowell then continued his career by covering Elvis’ songs for various Elvis-related projects, including “Elvis and Me” and the biography film “Elvis”. In 1997, he then contributed to the Showtime exclusive “Elvis Meets Nixon”. Afterwards, he released the song “I Love You, I Love You, I Love You” which also found popularity on radio, receiving significant airplay. His net worth continued to rise as he soon hit a string of successful singles from 1979 to 1986 – all of his songs except for one would become a Top 10 Hit. Other songs he released during this time were such as “In a New York Minute” and “All Tied Up”.
In 1986, Ronnie moved to Curb Records, and would perform the duet “It’s Only Make Believe” alongside Conway Twitty. Two years later, he performed another duet entitled “You’re Never Too Old To Rock ‘n’ Roll” with Jerry Lee Lewis, and then released a cover of “Unchained Melody” which reached the top of the country music video charts. Ronnie subsequently focused on touring, headlining shows and reaching larger venues, adding significantly to his net worth.
In 2002, he recorded two albums, one of which was a collaboration with Bill Pinkney’s Original Drifters. The second album focused on country music entitled “Ronnie McDowell Country”, consisting of some original songs as well as a few covers of country hits. His latest project is the military tribute duet entitled “Love Tattoo” in collaboration with Richard Lynch, and released in early 2017.
