Roman Bernard Atwood was born on 28 May 1983, in Millersport, Ohio, USA, and is a YouTube personality, probably best known for his channel Sketch Empire which showcases various pranks. The popularity of the channel has earned him more than 10 million subscribers and over 1.5 billion views . Aside from his YouTube channel, Atwood has worked on several films and commercials, but the efforts he’s put into his channel have raised his net worth to where it is currently.

How rich is Roman Atwood? As of 2017, sources estimate that his net worth is at $14 million, mostly acquired through his success on YouTube. He was even given a 2015 Nissan GTR as payment from Nissan for the company to use one of his videos in an ad campaign, which actually helped raise his wealth too.

Roman found his passion in producing and filming videos from when he was in high school. One of his first creations was a series of DVDs called “The Nerd Herd”, which were sold during an event called the 2006 Warped Tour. He worked in the family rope factory business called “Atwood Rope” prior to starting YouTube, but then he also produced commercials and films working in Columbus, Ohio. By 2010, Atwood had decided to focus his efforts on his YouTube channel, citing his passion for comedy.

Another famous video he has is called “Anniversary Prank Backfires!!”, and was supposed to be how he would fool his girlfriend on their 5th anniversary by telling her that he cheated on her. The prank backfires when his girlfriend would tell him that she cheated too. It was then later revealed that his girlfriend found out that he set up the camera and fooled him; she also thought that Roman was going to propose; this video had over 70 million views. Another frequently viewed video at over 35 million is the “Killing My Own Kid Prank” which shows how he used a kid mannequin dressed in a Spider-Man costume. He threw the mannequin from the balcony of their 2-storey house and pretended that it was his youngest son.

For the crazy plastic ball prank that Nissan had used for an ad campaign, Roman was rewarded with a Streamy Award for Best Brand Campaign. He was also nominated twice for Best Pranks in the 4th and 5th Streamy Awards.

He is also currently working on a few more comedy films and reality prank videos.

Outside of YouTube, Roman owns an online store and his own clothing line called “Smile More”, the sales from which boost his net worth too.

In his personal life, Roman was married to Shanna Riley (2001-08) – he divorced her after she had an affair with his ‘friend’. He has been living with his partner Brittany since 2010, and they have a son and a daughter. She makes a few appearances on his channel, and so do their children.
