Rockmond Dunbar, born on the 11th of January, 1973, is an American actor, who became famous for his varied roles on television, particularly in the shows “Soul Food”, “Prison Break” and “Sons of Anarchy”.
So how much is Dunbar’s net worth? As of early 2017, based on authoritative sources it is reported to be $2 million acquired from his years working as an actor both in film and television, which now spans 25 years.
Born in Berkeley, California, Dunbar didn’t pursue acting immediately as a child but rather focused on education. He studied at Oakland Technical High School in Oakland California, and later on at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduation, he then studied at the College of Sante Fe, New Mexico and also the University of New Mexico.
Dunbar’s acting career only started in 1993 in the movie “Misery Loves Company”, but after his first film his career became more consistent in the world of television. In 1994, he was cast as Baines in the series “Earth 2”, and after his first series, he then became a regular guest star in a variety of shows like “The Good News”, “Pacific Blue”, “The Pretenders” and “The Practice”. Nonetheless, his short roles and appearances helped start his career and also his net worth.
In the early 2000’s, Dunbar starred in two movie, “Punks” and “All About You”, and one TV-movie “Hollywood Division”. In 2003, he was cast in a recurring role in the comedy show “Girlfriends”, until finally landing a show that would catapult his career, which was “Soul Food”, in which he played the character of Kenny Chadway in the drama series from 2000 until its fifth season in 2004, significantly contributing to his net worth.
After the success of “Soul Food”, Dunbar was once again able to join a new television series entitled “Prison Break”, appearing in the show from 2005 to 2009, and playing the character of Benjamon Miles “C-Note” Franklin, one of his most memorable roles to date. After the height of “Prison Break”, Dunbar also made appearances in other shows including “Terriers”, “Dirty Laundry”, “Grey’s Anatomy” and “CSI: Miami”, and also starred in a couple of movies “Pastor Brown”, “The Family That Preys” and “Jada”, and the TV-movie “Taste of Romance”.
In 2011, Dunbar came back to television and had recurring roles in the shows “Sons of Anarchy” from 2011 to 2013, “For Richer or Poorer” from 2012 to 2013, and “The Game” in 2009, and then 2012 to 2013. In 2013, he became part of another television series called “The Mentalist”. His various roles in television and movies have tremendously helped his wealth.
Today, Dunbar is still active in acting. He is currently part of the television show “The Path” and will be reprising his role in “Prison Break: Resurrection”.
In terms of his personal life, Dunbar married Ivy Homes in 2003, but their relationship ended three years later. He has been married to actress and writer Maya Gilbert since 2013, and together they have a daughter and a son.
