How rich is Robin van Persie? As of mid-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $50 million, mostly earned through a successful career in professional soccer. He reportedly earns around $16 million per year as part of his current contract. He’s won numerous awards, and as he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.

Robin started his soccer career joining the youth squad at SBV Excelsior. He stayed there until the age of 16, when he moved to Feyenoord, and was quickly promoted to the first team, making his debut at the age of 17. He made 15 starts during the 2001 to 2002 season, and won the KNVB Best Young Talent Award. He then signed a three and a half year professional contract with the team which increased his net worth, however, he was demoted to the reserve squad due to clashes with the manager. He then signed a four year deal with English Premier League club Arsenal, and played there as a centre forward. He finished the season with 10 goals in 41 appearances, although having been benched for a lot of games.

He then got into good form in 2005, becoming the November Player of the Month, and subsequently received a five year contract extension which increased his net worth further. However, he suffered a foot injury which affected his performance, but then continued his improvement the following season, ending the year as the 2006 Rotterdam Sportsman of the Year. However, he was injured once again, and would leave the season early. In 2007, he started performing well, but was sidelined again for two months with a knee injury. He made his comeback but played sporadically throughout the season due to injury problems. The following year, he then had another good start with continued wins, and captained the Arsenal squad for the first time, and would win a Player of the Month Award again – he was eventually named the 2008 to 2009 Arsenal Player of the Season. He then started a new contract with Arsenal, and would continue to perform well throughout the season, before being sidelined due to an ankle injury, but would come back from injury with great performances once again, and set a personal record of 18 league goals within the season. In 2010, he was officially named as the team’s vice captain and was later promoted to captain. Robin scored the fastest goal of the 2011-12 Premier League, in just 28 seconds, and would continue his scoring run throughout the season. He continued to play well despite losses throughout the following year, and he had become a crucial centerpiece to the team. He finished as the top goal scorer in the Premier League at 30.

In 2012, he signed with Manchester United, and netted his first hat trick in the season against Aston Villa; he followed that up with his 100th Premier League goal, he was voted as the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year. He continued playing well for Manchester until signing with Fenerbahce in 2015 on a three year deal.

Internationally, van Persie has made over 100 appearances for the Netherlands, and scored over 50 goals, an impressive strike rate making him the leading Dutch scorer. He played in the losing World Cup final in 2010, was the leading scorer in the 2014 World Cup qualification stage, but the team finished third in the finals.
