Robby Krieger IV Wiki Biography
Robert Alan Krieger was born on 8 January 1946, in Los Angeles, California USA, of Jewish descent. Robby is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist, best known for being the guitarist of the rock band, The Doors. He has been inductedinto the Rock ;n’ Roll Hall of Fame, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Robby Krieger? As of early-2017, sources inform us of a net worth that is at $5 million, mostly earned through a successful career in the music industry. He is responsible for co-writing many of The Doors songs including “Light My Fire”, “Touch Me”, and “Love Her Madly”. All of these achievements have ensured the position of his wealth.
As he was growing up, Robby was exposed to a lot of classical music and he found himself taking a liking to the music of Peter and the Wolf, finding interest in Fats Domino, the Platters, and Elvis Presley thanks to radio. He tried to learn the trumpet at the age of 10 but later switched to piano. He attended Menlo School, and during his time there taught himself how to play the guitar. He then went to Puerto Vallarta and bought a guitar there which led him to take guitar lessons for a few months, including various genres. After matriculating, he attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where he would continue to improve his skills.
In 1965, he joined The Doors after Ray Manzarek’s brothers left the group. Thanks to Krieger’s varied musical tastes and skills in songwriting, the Doors would find a lot of success during the 1960s, increasing his net worth significantly. He also sang lead vocals occasionally in the band as seen in the songs “Land Ho” and “Runnin’ Blue”. He also sang on the last two Doors albums – “Other Voices” and “Full Circle” – after lead vocalist Jim Morrison’s death. The group carried on after Morrison’s death, but eventually called it quits in 1973.
Robby then formed the Butts Band and focused more on the jazz-fusion genre. He found success as a guitarist and would release several albums in the 1970s and 1980s, which continued to boost his net worth. His first solo release was entitled “Robbie Krieger & Friends” in 1977. In 1982, he made an album with the group Acid Casualties entitled “Panic Station”, and then formed a trio with Skip Van Winkle and Dale Alexander called The Robby Krieger Organization. In 1996, he then formed a band with his son called The Robby Krieger Band, and they would tour around North America and Europe. In 2002, Robby along with Ray Manzarek reformed in a band called Doors of the 21st Century.
They released several covers, but after disputes they changed the band’s name to Manzarek-Krieger. They would continue touring in the next few years, releasing several live albums most of which were collaborations. A few of his latest projects include a tour with The Roadhouse Rebels, and a feature on the Fuel album entitled “Puppet Strings”. His net worth is at least steady.
For his personal life, he has been married to Lynn since 1972; their son is guitarist Waylon Krieger. He owns several guitars mostly recognizable from his time with The Doors, a few include the 1954 Gibson Les Paul Custom called “Black Beauty” and the 1958 National “Town & Country”.
