Rishi Kapoor was born on 4 September 1952, in Chembur, Mumbai, India, and is an actor, director, and producer, best known for his numerous works in Hindi cinema. For his debut role as a child, he received a National Film Award, and has since won numerous other awards, with all of his efforts helping to put his net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Rishi Kapoor? As of early-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $40 million, mostly earned through success in the film industry. Some of the films he’s been a part of include “Bobby”, “Do Dooni Chaar”, and “Kapoor & Sons”. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also rise further.

Rishi attended Campion School in Mumbai, and after matriculating went to study at Mayo College located in Ajmer. One of his first films was the 1970’s “Mera Naam Joker” which was a film by his father Raj Kapoor. He was just a child in the film and he would go on to receive a National Film Award.

Kapoor then got his first lead role in the 1973 film “Bobby”, in which he appeared opposite Dimple Kapadia. The film proved very successful and it led to him appearing in a total of 51 solo hero films from 1973 to 2000. He would also star in 41 multi-hero films, not all of them successful, but some of the successful films proved to be highly popular, and increased his net worth significantly, with some of his most notable projects include “Laila Manju”, “Rafoo Chakkar”, “Honeymoon”, “Banjaran” and “Bol Radha Bol”. He has also been part of successful two-hero films, including “Badalta Rishtey”, “Saagar”, “Deewana”, and “Karoobaar”. In 1999, he forayed into directing, with “Ab Ab Laut Chalen” which starred Akshayane Khanna and Aishwarya Rai. One of his latest films as a romantic lead was “Karobaar: The Business of Love”, and he also played in “Heena”, which was directed by his brother Randhir Kapoor.

In the 2000s, Rishi moved into more supporting roles, appearing in films such as “Namastey London”, “Love Aaj Kal”, and “Patalia House”. He also started appearing in British films such as “Sambar Salsa” and “Don’t Stop Dreaming”. In 2012, he became part of “Agneepath” in the unusual role of a villain, and was a part of “Housefull 2”. He also made a cameo appearance in “Kab Tak Hai Jaan”. So his net worth continues to rise.

Kapoor has won numerous awards over the course of his career. He won a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008 and was even honored by the Russian Government for his contributions to cinema. Rishi Kapoor Quotes

  • I landed in Bobby by default. There was a misconception that the film was made to launch me as an actor. The film was actually made to pay the debts of Mera Naam Joker. Dad wanted to make a love story and he did not have money to cast superstar Rajesh Khanna in the film.So story was converted to a teenage love story and I was cast.
