Richard Rawlings Wiki Biography
Richard Ray Rawlings was born on 30th March 1969, in Fort Worth, Texas USA, and is a television personality, race car driver and mechanic, as well as a businessman. Richard is known for his appearances in the reality television show “Fast N’ Loud” (2012 – present), and for being the winner of Gumball 3000 rally. In addition, he is the owner of the Gas Monkey Live, Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill and Gas Monkey Garage.
So just how rich is Richard Rawlings, as of late 2017? Authoritative sources estimate that $20 million makes-up his net worth, with the two main sources being his businesses and television appearances. It has been reported that he earns $50,000 per episode of the reality show “Fast N’ Loud” (2012 – present) which is broadcast on Discovery channel. His career began in the 1990s.
Raised in Fort Worth, the boy was into racing and constructing cars at an early age. His dad was a big influence on this hobby, which later evolved into a successful career. Being only 14 years old, he bought his first car which was a Mercury Comet 1974, and was soon into buying and selling cars, which was a rather profitable business for a youngster. After matriculating from high school, Richard continued his car business as well as starting to construct cars. However, to support himself he had to do various other jobs, as a police officer, firefighter and paramedic among others. Later, he founded the advertising and printing company called Lincoln Press, which increased his wealth, and gave him the possibility to continue his car building career.
Rawlings subsequently sold his printing/advertising company in order to launch Gas Monkey Garage; the company creates cars for clients all over the world, with these unique cars transported to the customers, as well. The reality show “Fast N’ Loud” (2012 – present) is focused on the work in this garage, with the main stars of the show being Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kaufman; they look for broken down, shabby cars to buy, restore and sell. The show was triumphant from the first season, and continues being broadcast to the present with high ratings, and as a result of this, the spin-off show entitled “Misfit Garage” (2014 – present) has also been started. Rawling’s net worth continues to rise.
In 2013, the Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill was opened, a live music bar and restaurant located on Technology Boulevard East Dallas, Texas, USA. This bar and restaurant has also added significantly to Richard’s net worth. A year later Gas Monkey Live was launched, too.
Additionally, Richard is a racer in transcontinental road rallies, and is the winner of the Bullrun and Gumball 3000. Rawlings set the record in the Cannonball Run in 2007, and up to date nobody has been able to break it: he managed to drive the 2,811 miles from New York to Los Angeles at an average speed of 87.6 miles per hour – in 31 hours and 59 minutes.
In his personal life, Richard Rawlings states that he is single. Not much information about his private life is revealed, and he doesn’t give that much away in his autobiography – “Fast N’ Loud: Blood, Sweat and Beers” – published in 2015.
