Rajesh Hamal was born on 9 June 1964, in Tansen, Palpa, Nepal, to Renu and Dr. Chuda Badadur Hamal, the Nepalese Ambassador to Russia. He is an actor, TV presenter and social worker, who has starred in numerous films, establishing himself as a major figure in the Nepalese film industry.
