Quentin Richardson Wiki Biography

Quentin L. Richardson was born on 13 April 1980, in Chicago, Illinois USA, to Emma and Lee Richardson, of African-American descent. He is a retired professional basketball player, best known for playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Miami Heat and Orlando Magic in the National Basketball League (NBA).

So just how rich is Quentin Richardson? According to sources, Richardson has earned a net worth of over $23 million, as of early 2017, established largely during his NBA career, as well as through his involvement in the entertainment industry and his job in the Detroit Pistons’ organization.

Richardson grew up in Chicago, along with his four siblings, where he attended Whitney Young High School, playing for the school’s basketball team and leading them to the state AA title in 1998. Later that year he enrolled at Chicago’s DePaul University, joining its team, the Blue Demons, and being named Conference USA Player of the Year and USBWA National Freshman of the Year. During his two seasons with the Demons, he averaged 17.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, becoming the only player in the team’s history to score 1,000+ points, 500+ rebounds and 100+ three-point field goals.

Declaring himself eligible for the NBA draft in 2000, Richardson was selected as the 18th overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers, and remained four seasons with the team, enabling him to achieve great popularity and to earn a considerable net worth.

Becoming a free agent in 2004, he signed with the Phoenix Suns, setting a single-season record for three-point field goals and leading the league with 631 three-point attempts and 226 three-point field goals, which boosted his popularity. He also set a record with nine threes, capturing the win of the NBA All-Star Three-Point Shootout, reinforcing his reputations of a valuable player. His brilliant performance while with the Suns greatly contributed to his net worth.

The following year Richardson was traded to the New York Knicks. However, his action with the new team was quite limited, due to multiple injuries he suffered, and in 2009 he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, but only three weeks later he was traded back to the Los Angeles Clippers, then after three days he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. His stint with the team lasted around one month, and he was again traded, this time to the Miami Heat, all added somewhat to his wealth. In 2010 Richardson joined the Orlando Magic, remaining with the team until 2012. The following year he signed with the New York Knicks again, although his second stint with the team saw him appearing in only one regular season game, and several playoff games.

Later that year Richardson was traded to the Toronto Raptors, but was waived by the team a few months later, and not long after, he retired from professional basketball.

As of 2014 he has served as the director of player development for the Detroit Pistons, which has been another source of his income.

Aside from his career in the NBA, Richardson has been involved in the entertainment industry. He has made appearances in television series such as “Sidelines: L.A. Hoops”, “Arli$$” and “One on One”, as well as in the comedy/romance film “Van Wilder: Party Liaison”. His involvement in these projects has also contributed to his fame and fortune.

When it comes to his private life, Richardson was engaged to R&B singer Brandy Norwood, but they separated in 2005. As of 2012, he has been married to Miya Manuel.
