Pusha T Wiki Biography
Terrence Thornton was born on 13th May 1977 in The Bronx, New York City USA. Pusha T is a hip hop artist and songwriter, and was a founding member (alongside his brother Gene) of the hip hop duo Clipse (1992 – 2014). Together with the previously mentioned brother, Terrence also founded the record label Re-Up Records and is a co-chief executive officer. Pusha T has been accumulating his net worth in the entertainment industry since 1992.
Is this rapper and the owner of the record label rich? Reportedly, Pusha T’s net worth stands at $15 million. The most significant revenues of Pusha T are $1.1 million from the album “Lord Willin’” (2002), and $1 million for the contract the artist signed with Yeezy’s Good Music label for three albums in a partnership with Def Jam Records. In 2013, Pusha T received $4 million in estimated earnings in sales of the clothing line, Play Cloths which he and his brother launched in 2008.
Terrence Thornton grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1992, the two brothers nicknamed Pusha T and No Malice formed the hip hop duo called Clipse. It was the record producer Pharrell Williams who helped the new band to sign the contract with the record label Electra Records. In 1997, they published their debut studio album “Exclusive Audio Footage” (1997), however, it failed to enter the music charts. Fortunately, the other albums released under Star Trak label were way more successful. All of them reached the Billboard’s R&B Top 10. More, the studio album “Lord Willin’” (2002) was certified platinum in the USA. Two other albums “Hell Hath No Fury” (2006) and “Til the Casket Drops” (2009) reported sales respectively of 221,000 and 70,000 in USA.
It should also be noted that the brothers were open to various collaborative acts among which the most successful was song “Like I Love You” recorded with the singer Justin Timberlake, on which Clipse appeared as featured artists. The above mentioned song was nominated for the Grammy Award as the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2003.
In 2010, Pusha T appeared on the scene as a solo act, and up to date he has released 29 singles, 33 music videos, a studio album, a compilation album, EPs and a mixtape. Among the singles the most successful one was “Mercy” (2012) recorded with Kanye West, Big Sean and 2 Chainz. The single topped both Billboard R&B and Rap Tops charts as well as receiving the certification to be three times platinum according to sales in USA. This single was nominated for two Grammy Awards, for the Best Rap Song and the Best Rap Performance in 2013. The single was included on the compilation album “Cruel Summer” (2012). The only studio album, “My Name Is My Name” (2013), reached second position on the Billboard R&B and Rap Top 100. More, it entered the music charts in other countries including Canada, Denmark, Belgium, UK and France. No wonder that Pusha T is the multi millionaire as all the previously mentioned successful engagements added significantlyto his net worth.
Concerning the private life of the rapper, he is in a long term relationship with his girlfriend Virginia Williams.
