Paul Rodgers Wiki Biography
Paul Rodgers was born on the 17th December 1949, in Middlesbrough, England, UK and is a singer known for being a member of such bands as Free, Bad Company, The Firm, and Queen + Paul Rodgers. He is the winner of an Ivor Novello Award for the Outstanding Contribution to British Music. Rodgers has been active in the entertainment industry since 1968.
How much is the net worth of Paul Rogers? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the overall size of his wealth is as much as $14 million, as of the data presented in the middle of 2016, with music being the main source of his fortune.
To begin with, Paul began playing the bass guitar in his early childhood. Concerning his professional career, he made his debut as a singer/songwriter in the band Free in 1968. Two years later the band broke through with the hit “All Right Now” (1970); furthermore, the song “Wishing Well by Free” was also a hit. After the success of Free, Rodgers became a member of an even more successful band called Bad Company, with which Rodgers had a number of major successes including hits such as “Can’t Get Enough”, “Feel Like Making Love” and “Seagull” from 1973 to 1982. However, despite a steadily-growing net worth, Rodgers decided to devote more time to his family, and left the band in 1982.
In 1984, the singer returned to the music industry with the solo album “Cut Loose”. Shortly after that album, with his good friend and former Led Zeppelin member Jimmy Page he decided to form a new band entitled The Firm, with which he made two albums and undertook two tours.
In 1999, the reunion of the original line up of Bad Company with Rodgers took place, however, this reunion was short lived, and so Rodgers really came back into the public eye when at the end of 2004 it was announced that he would go on tour with Queen in 2005 and 2006; the recording of the concert in Sheffield was released as a double CD and DVD called “Return of the Champions”.
From late 2006, Rodgers worked with Queen guitarist Brian May and Queen drummer Roger Taylor in the studio making a new album. Also in 2006, Rodgers had a successful tour in England and Scotland, releasing a recording of the last performance of the tour on CD and DVD, entitled “Live in Glasgow” (2007). In 2009, he put an end to cooperation with Queen. In 2014, he again reunited with Bad Company. To conclude, all the above mentioned engagements have added significant sums to the total size of Paul Rogers net worth as well as popularity.
Finally, in the personal life of the singer, Paul was married to Machiko Shimizu from 1971 to 1996; they have two children who launched a band Boa. Rodgers has one more child who was born out of the wedlock. In 2007, he married Cynthia Kereluk, and they reside in Surrey, British Columbia.
