Ozzie Newsome Jr. was born on 16 March 1956, in Muscle Shoals, Alabama USA, and is a retired professional American Football player, best known to play in the National Football League (NFL) as a tight end from 1978 to 1990, for the Cleveland Browns, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

He did not miss a single season during his 13 year NFL career and played 198 consecutive games as a Brown. In 1999, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, having already been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame five years previously.

After retiring, he served as an executive for the Cleveland Browns until 1995, when he moved to become a front office executive with the Baltimore Ravens, then in 2002 he was named as the general manager of the Ravens, becoming the first African-American to hold that position in the NFL. The previous year, he earned his first Super Bowl ring when the Ravens defeated the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV, and got another ring in 2013 when the Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. He was also given the highest honor by the United States Sports Academy, the Eagle Award, thanks to his significant contributions to the sport internationally.
