How rich was the actress? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the overall size of Natasha Richardson net worth was as much as $15 million, converted to the present day. Acting was the main source of Richardson’s net worth.

To begin with, Natasha Richardson was the daughter of the actress Vanessa Redgrave and the director Tony Richardson, and so was raised in one of the most famous English actor families. She was educated at two London schools – Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, and St. Paul’s Girls’ School – then attended the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and her first stage experience was at the Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park, where she played the role of Helena opposite Ralph Fiennes in William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Nights Dream”. In 1985 she was Ophelia in a production of “Hamlet” at the Young Vic Theatre in London.

She made her breakthrough in 1985 when she played the role of Nina in Chekhov’s “The Seagull” at the Queen’s Theatre, alongside her mother, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jonathan Pryce. In the 1980s, she also took several television roles, including in the series “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” (1985) as Violet. From 1990 onwards, she played the title role in Eugene O’Neill’s play “Anna Christie” for which she was nominated for Tony Award, and was awarded a Tony and a Drama Desk Award for her role of Sally Bowles in Sam Mendes “Cabaret”. In 1993, she appeared in the re-release of “Anna Christie” with Liam Neeson on Broadway, and in 1994, they were in the film “Nell” together in front of the camera. In the spring of 1999, she returned to Broadway with Patrick Marber’s hit “Closer”, moreover, she landed roles in the plays “The Lady from the Sea” (2003) and “A Streetcar Named Desire” (2005). Furthermore, she created such characters as Darlene Dodd in the film “Walking Up in Reno” (2002), Caroline Lane in “Maid in Manhattan” (2002), Stella Raphael in “Asylum” (2005) and Mrs. Kingsley in “Wild Child” (2008). All these appearances added steadily to Natasha’s net worth.

Finally, in the personal life of Natasha Richardson, from 1990 to 1992 she was married to producer Robert Fox. From 1994, she had been married to the actor Liam Neeson, with whom she had two sons. She died as a result of a fall at the Mont Tremblant ski resort in Canada, that produced an epidural hematoma. The Broadway stages turned off their lights to honour the actress, who died on the 18th March 2009 in New York City.

Natasha Jane Richardson Quotes

  • I think there’s nothing you won’t do for someone you love. That’s what I learned…when you realize it doesn’t matter. When you love someone, you do all that for them.
  • [on her role in Asylum] “It’s a very dark, very intense, very sexy story, full of pain and passion and all the stuff I love. I’m a hopeless romantic so I fall for that stuff hook, line and sinker.”
  • [on being part of an acting dynasty] It’s a huge help to be the daughter of famous parents; the doors open just out of curiosity, and after you land a job, you have the inspiration of their help, and their own work.
  • [on playing Patty Hearst] I gobbled up this part, but I had no idea of the difficulties inherent in playing a character who’s not a heroine.
  • [in an interview with The Telegraph in February 2003] I wake up every morning feeling lucky – which is driven by fear, no doubt, since I know it could all go away.
  • [in an interview with The Telegraph in February 2003] I used to be much more ambitious. I don’t feel ambitious at all now in terms of using work as a stepping stone to somewhere else, but I do feel an enormous thirst to do work that I care about. I don’t think I’ve ever played a part on film that has given me the opportunity to do what I’ve been able to do on stage.
