Michael Lang was born on the 11th December 1944 in Brooklyn, New York City, USA of Jewish origin and is a rock concert promoter, producer and artistic entrepreneur. His name is historically linked to the Woodstock Festival, of which he was the creator and executive producer. Lang has been active in the entertainment industry since 1968.

In Ang Lee’s film “Taking Woodstock” (2009), Michael is played by the actor Jonathan Groff.
