Michael Landon Jr. Wiki Biography
Born Michael Graham Landon on the 20th June 1964, in Encino, California USA, he is an actor, writer, director and producer as well, best known to the world for directing and writing such successful films as “Love Comes Softly”, “Love’s Enduring Promise” and “Love’s Abiding Joy” (2006), among other accomplishments.
Have you ever wondered how rich Michael Landon Jr. is, as of late 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Landon’s wealth is as high as $8 million, an amount earned through his successful career in the world of entertainment, active since the early ‘90s.
Michael is the second oldest of four children born to Michael Landon and his second wife, Lynn Noe. He has three siblings, Leslie, Christopher who is also an actor, and Shawna.
Unfortunately, little is known about Michael’s early years and education, despite becoming a Hollywood star.
His acting career began when he was in his teens, appearing in one of the episodes of the highly successful TV series “Little House on the Prairie”, in which his father was the lead star.
Years later, he portrayed Benjamin “Benj’ Cartwright in the television film “Bonanza: The Next Generation”, and played the same character in two other films “Bonanza: The Return” (1993), for which he also wrote the script, and “Bonanza” Under Attack” (1995). He didn’t focus much on his acting career after that, but instead nurtured all other filmmaking abilities.
His directorial debut was the documentary “Michael Landon: Memories with Laughter and Love” in 1991, and then eight years later, he directed the film “Michael Landon, the Father I Knew”. He then developed a series of television films, the first of which came out in 2003, the romantic drama “Love Comes Softly” starring Katherine Heigl, Dale Midkiff and Corbin Bernsen. The film had four sequels “Love’s Enduring Promise” (2004), “Love’s Long Journey” (2005), “Love’s Abiding Joy” (2006), and “Love’s Unfolding Dream”, all of which he wrote, and directed, except for the last installment, as Harvey Frost was given duties of directing, since Michael worked on another drama “The Last Sin Eater”, which had Louis Fletcher, Henry Thomas and Liana Liberato in the lead roles. Two years later, Michael directed the animated family fantasy “The Velveteen Rabbit”, and in 2011 he directed another television film “The Shunning”, which added further to his net worth.
His next creation was the television film “The Confession” (2013), a drama based on the same-titled novel by Beverly Lewis, which is a sequel to the previous film directed, “The Shunning”.
Since 2014, Michael has been working on the TV drama series “When Calls the Heart” (2014-2017), about a young school teacher leaving the big city to teach in a small mining town.
He has served as a producer for all his creations, but has also added several titles to his name, such as the drama “Saving Sarah Cain” in 2007, then the western “Love Takes Wing” (2009), and its sequel “Love Finds a Home” the same year, plus most recently the family drama “Heaven Sent” (2016), all of which have added to his net worth.
Regarding his personal life, Michael has been married to Sharee Gregory since 1987; the couple has three children together.
