Michael Blakey Wiki Biography
Michael Blakey was born on 8 December 1958, in London, England, and is a record producer, musician, song-writer and artist manager, best known for promoting numerous high profile artists over the course of his career. He’s been active in the industry since 1977, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Michael Blakey? As of late-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $40 million, mostly earned through success in the music industry. Some of the performers he has worked with include Tears for Fears, Mary J. Blige, No Doubt, and Brian McKnight. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.
Michael started his career in the music industry as a resident producer of the Germany-based record company Hansa Studios, during his time there working with Julio Iglesias and Boney M, and producing singles for various musical acts such as the multiple platinum-selling artist Englebert Humperdinck. Over the next few years, Michael continued to expand his skills, working as a session recording drummer from the 1980s to the 1990; in 1993 he became the drummer of the rock band Tidal Force, and also wrote songs for them. In 1999 he founded the record label 2KSounds, which became one of the first record companies to promote music through the internet. The label would soon partner with Virgin Records, and Michael would become the president of the Record division. His net worth increased significantly over the years.
Around this time, Blakey also founded three other promotional and production companies including Platinum Records. He also started to collaborate with various film projects, helping produce the original musical soundtrack for “Cinderella II: Dreams Come True”. In 2009, he formed Organica Media CGroup with comedian Ron White. The company produces film and television content for music artists. He also formed Electra Star Management which roster includes Pamela Anderson, and Billy Bob Thornton. He was involved in Ron White’s “Comedy Salute to the Troops” series and produced the special “A Little Unprofessional” which was certified Platinum by the RIAA.
Thanks to his work, Michael won a Producer of the Year award from Melody Maker. He was also named Man of the Year by Music Beat. He helped develop the Forensic Frequency Separation Software or FFSS which would allow sound engineers to extract specific vocal segments of a mono track. He was also one of the previous owners of Maserati UK but he later sold the company. He was also the co-owner of Pylon International Inc which focuses on private jet charter. The company was sold to IJM Holdings Corporation in 2007. All of these endeavors have had a hand in raising his net worth further.
For his personal life, it is known that Blakey married Sasha in 2008 and they have a daughter. He is fluent in German and Spanish. He also has a license for race cars, power boats and various aircraft.
