Merrill Osmond was born on 30 April 1953, in Ogden, Utah USA, one of the nine children of Olive and George Osmond. He is best known as the lead singer and bassist of The Osmonds band, a spin-off band from The Osmond Brothers.

In the period of 1963 – 1964, the family appeared in ‘’ The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters’’, an ABC western TV series, with Merrill playing the role of Deuteronomy Kissel alongside a young Kurt Russell.
