Merrill Osmond was born on 30 April 1953, in Ogden, Utah USA, one of the nine children of Olive and George Osmond. He is best known as the lead singer and bassist of The Osmonds band, a spin-off band from The Osmond Brothers.

Merrill’s career began early – four of the Osmonds appeared in ‘’The Andy Williams Show’’ musical variety program on NBC in the early ‘60s -Tteir partnership with NBC lasted for seven years. In the period of 1963 – 1964, the family appeared in ‘’ The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters’’, an ABC western TV series, with Merrill playing the role of Deuteronomy Kissel alongside a young Kurt Russell. His musical career began expanding during the ‘70s, with Merrill going on to become the lead singer, and was also co-singer and sharing the spotlight with his brother Donny, with a vocal range of tenor/ countertenor. In his personal life, Merrill has been married to Mary Carlson since 1973; The couple has four sons, and two daughters. Having established The Children’s Miracle Network, Merrill is widely recognized for his charity work, focusing on providing children’s hospitals and raising over $4.7 million in its first year. Merrill is a financer of The Hearing Fund UK, a charity established by his son Justin.
