Born Mark Charles Edward Wright on the 20th January 1987 in Buckhurst Hill, Essex England, Mark is a television personality, best known to the world for his appearances in the TV soap opera “The Only Way is Essex” (2010-2014), and as the host of the show “Mark Wright’s Hollywood Nights” (2012), among many other accomplishments, mostly for ITV and ITV2.
Have you ever wondered how rich Mark Wright is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Wright’s net worth is as high as $4 million, an amount earned through his successful career in the entertainment industry, which has been active since 2010.
Mark is the second child born to Mark Wright, Sr. and his wife Carol; he has an older brother and two younger sisters. Before venturing into the entertainment world, Mark tried himself as a soccer player. His soccer beginnings trace back to the mid- ‘90s when he played for West Ham United as a youth, and then after four years moved to Arsenal. He stayed at Highbury until 2001, when he joined the Tottenham Hotspurs, after which he signed his first professional contract with Southend United, and between 2005 and 2011 moved through various teams, including Grays Athletic, Crawley Town, Fisher Athletic, Thurrock and Bishop’s Stortford, but without any major success.
Instead, in the fall 2010, Mark was selected for the reality TV program “The Only Way is Essex”, a soap opera structured as a reality program with unscripted dialogues. Mark stayed in the show until 2013 appearing in 44 episodes, which increased his wealth to a large degree. Mark meanwhile featured in other programs, including “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” (2011) finishing second, which also added to his net worth, while also co-presenting “Take Me Out” (2012), with Laura Jackson – the show is a spin-off from the original “Take Me Out: The Gossip”. In 2013 he worked as a reporter of “Surprise Surprise”, and the next year he featured in the dance competition show “Strictly Come Dancing”, in which his professional dancing partner was Karen Hauer; the two made it into finals and finished fourth. His next engagement was the show “The Dengineers” on CBBC, which he co-presented with Lauren Layfield from 2015 to 2017, when he decided to leave the show. Most recently, he became the Special Correspondent of the show “Extra” (2017).
Aside from his daily job on television, Mark has also been a model; back in 2013 he signed a contract with the online retail giant Littlewoods as their face of menswear, which also increased his net worth.
Regarding his personal life, Mark has been married to actress Michelle Keegan since 2015. Previously he was in a relationship with TV personality and model Lauren Doodger from 2001 to 2012, becoming engaged in March 2011, however, a few months later, Mark broke up their relationship, stating that Lauren had cheated on him.
Mark was best man at the Jade Goody, a TV reality star, and Jack Tweed’s wedding in February 2009. Jade passed away in March that year after losing her battle to cancer.
Mark is also known for his philanthropic activities; in 2016 he participated in Soccer Aid, and played for the England. He scored the first goal for the team from a free kick, and England eventually won the match 3-2. Mark was named Man of the Match, beside the likes of such soccer stars as David Seaman, Sol Campbell, Phil Neville and Robbie Fowler, among others.
